Mitch is getting that treatment now for going early in the 4th.

When Belichick makes a "head scratching" move. All try to see, what he sees and they missed. Lynch/Shan have not proved to anyone they are masters at that and "head scratchers" are just that. We ignored OL and DBs. Frankly having your 5th round pick become a star seems to be out of the Baalke handbook (minus the torn ACLs). All this homey talk, I'm not buying this year. Bought too many years with in the past. If Garropolo gets great protection and we aren't torched more that most secondaries, I will admit I was wrong. But I was dead on last year.

If there is a disgruntled guy in the organization, it would be Adam Peter's. Shanalynch are buddy buddies, Kyle practically hired John. Peters wants credit for the draft and he won't get it. Its gonna go to John. It would be Peter's in my opinion that would feel bad because they didnt use his scouting reports. And/or because of the Hurd and Make@wish pick.

Can you show me where it says these are not picks that Adam Peters liked? And Peters gets a ton of credit and gets talked up at every opportunity. He's basically a GM in waiting.

Hey Old Joe. Belichick used the 2nd pick of the 5th round and 9th pick overall to get a punter. We used our 110th overall (our 4th pick). Huge difference. And their roster is at a completely different place than ours too. LOL.

When you say different place? If Brady wasn't on that roster it would be mediocre this year. Granted he is so that always puts them in contention, but if you look at what they lost compared to added... its worse than the usual Patriots purge where they just bounce back. Their current roster isn't wowing anyone, the patriots narrative doesn't hold much water this year so when they did spend two picks on a punter... its not like they had picks to waste.

Pretty much all the draft nerds on the draft threads facepalmed when make@wish was picked. These guys are so similar in mentality to the scouts in mentality that I would think the same thing happend at 4949 Marie p. Debartolo way when make@wish was picked, and I think that is where all these stories about a split the organization originated.

I think many would disagree with this but to each his own.
4 years for a punter...wtf. Drafting him in the 4th was already a joke to begin with. We make good moves then head scratching moves that make you realize we hired a gm with 0 personnel experience. It shows with this move.

Every draft pick gets a 4 year deal and 1st rounders have a built in 5th year option.

Thems there is the rules.

First I've heard of that

That's because your glasses are foggy.

Care to share the source of it?

Good luck finding that. IIRC it was a video. Kyle himself talked about how moving up in the 3rd was a concern for BeatHard; adding more pressure because of the 3rd round stigma vs. 4th round. He wasn't mad at Lynch for moving up but more concerned for his new QB.

I could be dead wrong since I'm going off memory but I could of sworn it was Kyle that actively wanted CJ in the 3rd. Something about Kyle saying he didn't want to go to bed that Friday night not knowing if he would get him or not.

Yes, that's right. Shanahan only wanted BeatHard, so Lynch green lighted going up to get him.
NC's spreading fake news to please the Aussies.

https://ninerswire.usatoday.com/2017/05/01/kyle-shanahan-landed-only-quarterback-he-wanted-in-nfl-draft/

From The MMQB's Peter King:
. . . someone suggested moving from early in the fourth round to late in the third, five spots up, to snare the only quarterback Shanahan wanted in this draft: Iowa's C.J. Beathard. "We'd all sleep a little better if we got him instead of waiting 'til tomorrow," York said.
So they dealt for the 104th pick to choose Beathard, the grandson of former Super Bowl GM Bobby Beathard. "He processes the game so well," Shanahan said. "Tough as s—. Got a chance. He reminds me a lot of Kirk Cousins."
Both Shanahan and general manager John Lynch indicated they thought Beathard would get taken as early as Round 4, so San Francisco moved back into the third round to get Shanahan's guy.

Yeah like I said, Lynch did Kyle a solid by moving up so they could all sleep better. But after that, Kyle in an interview had reservations about it because of the stigma and potentially, added pressure.

Not that shy of this is even a bit important. It's not like Kyle punched Lynch in the face for trying to do what was best for him and give him a peace of mind. LOL
