Also, someone suggested Mitch couldn't kick 70yds. I think these clips strongly suggest he could quite easily. He's getting 5 seconds of hangtime on a 50yd kick with ease. If he flattened his trajectory out and went for distance, I reckon he could add 15-20yds of range without too much trouble. Kicks of that distance are pretty common in AFL.

I've got you covered then. No worries.

Oh, no doubt. Leg strength is clearly not an issue.

PS: I do highly recommend getting a Twitter account since you're a sports fan (rugby, futbol, NFL).

Accuracy, he said, he takes a lot of pride with...and consistency. Both on display here.
Kyle playing chess while the rest of the league is playing checkers
So much pressure now on this guy lol. Oh you pinned them at the eight yard line....NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

It's rare that you see a guy with a powerful leg still be able to kick with such accuracy and touch when needed. This is basically the same for every single sport. Most guys known for power aren't able to dial it down so easily.

Wait till he gets one blocked, which I think is something you have to just accept with his style. This place will EXPLODE.

I know not everyone here could give a f**k, but it's not really all that rare for an AFL player to have exceptional control when kicking. They just learn it as part of the game. In Aussie Rules, a huge part of the game is to kick on the full to a teammate who can be anywhere from 15-75yds away. You could be kicking from a variety of situations, anywhere from a standing start to a full sprint to a teammate who might be stationary or running towards, away or across your position. The means of scoring points is to kick the ball through the goal posts, often from 50yds plus out.

Without writing a novel about it, basically, to be a successful AFL player, you need to have accuracy, power, range, control etc in varying degrees dependant on position. The very best players exhibit all those qualities.

Consistency is important. Particularly for this OCDs on here. This clip is for them...

Can he anchor though?

His primary job at Utah was actually to take triple teams.

Wow. This guy can win the game by himself, if he can pin a team down to the 2 to 10 yard line in the fourth quarter and if our defense has a pass rush.
