A 5th is not the same as a 4th. With the Patriots track record they can do what they want. This team needs to go to the film room and watch how the Patriots deal and pick in the draft.

Patriots do whatever the hell they want in the draft. Seems 9ers are following suit.

Because Bellichick ignores dumb*ss fans and internet scouts who think they know better than people who are actually employed by NFL teams.
Better draft pick than bosa lol

We drafted a 27 year old punter with a 4th round pick. There were lots of other needs for this team to fill. There were still some good players available on the board. Just a ridiculous pick. You can get a punter in the 7th round or UDFA.

This team needs to watch film on how the Patriots draft. These last 2 picks especially prove they don't know what they are doing.

......

You mean like when the Pats drafted a P round 5 in 2010 who only lasted 3 seasons ?

Which team(s) were expected to draft this Punter. Not sarcastic, really want to know.

Ok he does not look normal....that very much looks like some sort of rugby like kicking.

Whats this dudes background?
Like SEA Dickson, he has an Aussie Rules background (very much not rugby at all, ever). Rugby == Jarryd Hayne -- remember him ;)

Special teams is so undervalued by the fans and most of the good teams understand how important it is.

You really think Seattle cared about people laughing at them for taking a punter in the 5th? He was by far one of their most important players last season.

SEA also took him even tho their long term punter was still performing well. Dickson had Ryan out the door by second(mebbe third) preseason game. So, taking him early makes some sense..

If Mike Wazowski is anything like Dickson then people will somewhat learn to make peace with it. Dickson was a top 5 player on their roster and that isn't a slight on the rest of the roster, he was just absolutely lights out. It was brutal thinking that you'll get the football in great field position and this dude kicks it 70 yards. Or you think you'll get a touchback and he curves it out of bounds at the 4 yard line.

On the other hand if he's just average....yeeeesh....
Worst pick in the draft for any team.

Probably none NEEDED a punter, but if they valued one as an upgrade enough they'd pick them. SEA did just that last year.

Lol do you even Dan Jones?

Whom the Giants said he will sit for 3 years after being taken #6?

Can't wait to hear the logic behind this pick from John Lynch
Williams in '17
Street in '18

You guys act like we missed on getting a great player. If anything we filled a position of need and guaranteed starter.

Kittle was a 5th rounder. They could still find a gem later
