To your first question.. it is correct they typically get a warning however the NFL allows itself the right to eject should a play be found as particularly egregious (which they ruled here).

To your second... if you are asking why QBs get special treatment.. here is my response ---> $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

NFL is a business

He's the only one that punches the ball on those gang tackles so the NFL probably wants to try and limit his ass I did say he was looking suspect during the game though and then he got ejected but I was referring to a couple plays on coverage

Very good hit on Herbert. Herbert was out before half time and was never the same in the second half 🤣

That was a GAME CHANGER.

Greenlaw has ALWAYS BEEN a rough player definitely 110% better than Bobby useless Wagner the Lambs over paid for a over the hill loser at this point 🤣

Yes, this was not the first time Dre has been hit with an unnecessary roughness call. I believe the league keeps track of such calls. If so, maybe the fact he has priors influenced the ejection. Once a player develops a reputation for a certain behavior, officials are going to be looking for it, with flags to follow.

Vontaze Burfict, LB, Cincinnati, was a complete thug, far worse than Greenlaw. His repeated violations resulted in huge fines and loss of pay. Eventually, the Bengals had enough of him and released him. Of course, the Raiders picked him up the next day. He played a handful of games, had another violation, and was suspended for the rest of the season. It was a very bad image for the league and surely had an impact on the current rules and enforcement.

The last unnecessary roughness against him was a b******t call as well.

Haha! Right. I Love the mindset that hit brought to our team.

Its good that we won, since he came out early he got extra rest and less chance of injury
I believe it was 3rd and Long when Herbert decided to run....

He should already be viewed as a runner when he decides to not slide with the ball when he's surrounded.... AND EVEN MORE SO when he's trying to get the 1st down on 3rd and Long. What the f**k is the defender supposed to do? Let him get a first down? He sees the QB running determined to get the first down... defender puts himself in a position to stop him... Dre squared up so if Herbert slid... Dre is good and would be over him and can hold up. But Herber kept coming and seemed to dive forward (aided by a push from Jimmy Ward)....

If the league is going to officiate like this, then QBs should be considered down as soon as they are touched in the open field...so defenders don't have to worry about tackling them.

sounds stupid, but what else can a defender do? Hell Justin Fields milks this s**t... he slides at the last f**king second. But he's big enough, where he could fake a slide, or fake going out of bounds, and then barrel through a defenders arms on a key play late in the 4th QTR.

What's funny are these fake fans acting like Greenlaw is a dirty murderer. You bring a little old school defensive mindset set this soft azz league and they get all butt hurt! 🤣.
It does feel like Greenlaw launches himself like an arrow more often than others so he will get the unlucky penalty when the runners' head/body moves in an unexpected direction at the last millisecond.
I think people forget that Greenlaw was ejected earlier in the year as well. Thats probably why the NFL Refs ejected him again for the helmet to helmet. That being said that was still a bs call.

He definitely didn't deserve to be ejected.

But it's also clear that Greenlaw is a reckless player who gets flagged often for personal fouls and late hits. He can't control himself on the field and always does something extra. There's other flags he probably deserves he doesn't get.

I love him as a player but someone (LB coach? Warner?) should talk to him about playing with aggression but maintaining focus.

They'll come a time when Greenlaw will be gone and all these people crying about how aggressive and reckless his game is will wish we had an enforcer like him. I know for a fact opposing players are looking out for him and disrupting their game. The game is sisified, Greenlaw is just carrying the LB torch playing it like it supposed to be played!

Yes sir it is. The way Greenlaw plays is nothing different than how Willis and Bowman played. It's a shame how everytime you see a big hit, you hold your breath because 9 times out of 10 you see a yellow flag thrown. The game has definitely changed. I still enjoy it, but hopefully it doesn't completely water down.
Was he even fined
