Hopefully this class is the real deal because we really need them to be, especially after Foster being a knuckle head.

Foster and Williams were a bust, but the stories of all the other players are still being written. I would not say this draft 'fell apart , at least not yet.

^^^no argument there, Giedi, but add in trade for Dee Ford and this was a yr of acquisition that was mind bending. Overdue, sure, but still unbelievable . Our obvious holes remaining are starter OG and starter DB...or two of each.

But think back just 28 months ago, and this team had two starters, Joe and Buck. We have come a long way from there. Not saying it's complete, but jimminy Christmas, this was one massive infusion of talent this yr. Way, way beyond expectations. The Richburg thing? Yup that set us back. But overall we are about + 12 on a 1-10 scale of how did we improve. Nobody was looking for this kind of increase in talent between. FA, trades and draft. Well, certainly not I.

Don't forget the Foster fiasco. We went from having a stud at LB to having a huge hole that had to be addressed. Then Malcolm Smith got hurt and never really has been able to play. That meant drafting Greenlaw and signing Kwon Alexander which in turn kept us from addressing O line or corner. Every move or injury affects every other move the front office makes. Plans can change in one play or one off field incident.

Agreed not to mention we aquired Mullens and Breida as part of that class...
To add a little context the 2017 draft may have looked great day one due to the lack of talent at that time. Now this group of draftees enter a much more talented team and they are making noise. To me it is hopefully speaking volumes. Encouraging also is the third tier guys added this year Azeez, Harris, Moseley, etc. all look like they belong and will fill the practice squad with actual talent.
Can't decide if he's #TheGreenLawMan or #TheGreenSlawter

I agree...i wasn't putting a fork in them and still have high hopes for Thomas, Witherspoon and even Colbert. Just saying it looked like a terrific draft with multiple starters but then guys we were looking forward to having huge sophomore seasons basically slumped across the board outside of Kittle and Breida.

Which is to be expected in the inexact science of the draft. EVERY team deals with it.
Nothing eye popping this previous week during game time.

Not comparing him to anyone, but looking at Nicky B, Deebo, Hurd, WISH...and then Dre? That just seems too good to be true. Nobody doesn't hat good with 5 picks. Well, almost nobody. No matter how you slice it, this was one helluva draft.

The draft looks good so far. We shall see, but even assuming it is a good draft, they need another one next year to solidify some depth to make a playoff run more consistently.

Isn't that obviously the point for every single NFL team? To get better every year? LOL

That's the goal of every NFL team, very true, but only one can be number 1, everybody else 2nd place, and of course -- second place means basically dead last.
