He should have already been named the starter - even before Malcolm was released.

Agree!
I think theyre gonna give Lee the starting job first and see how he does, Greenlaw still has a lot to learn with coverage and we cant afford to have busted coverages

Well I think once Bosa and Ford are 100%, that would be when I put him in as starter. There will be very little busted coverages with Bosa and Ford in the game. QB'S wont have enough time to bust any coverages.

I'm not convinced Elijah even makes the team

I think Lee has a shot at the roster but his coverage was suspect on at least a couple of plays this preseason IIRC.
Glad he BEAT OUT Malcolm Smith. Greenlaw reminds me a lot of EX 49ER Jamie Winborn...

Love the comparison and I concur. His tackling ability was in question coming out of college but seems to be more than fine to me

I'd be delighted if Greenlaw goes out and proves he can successfully be an NFL starter. I didn't see the qualities in his college film. In college, he looked slow reacting, underpowered in tackling, and not particularly good against the run. Coverage seemed okay, but nothing stood out.

Would love for the guy to prove me wrong.

i think he is better than smith. i am fine with lee as a back up. funny how the subtraction of a player makes me feel better about our linebackers depth
