Greenlaw's a good player...hard to replace Alexander, but it's next man up and that's him. Nzeocha will likely be the first man off the bench. We have good LB depth...and now they'll have their opportunities to show it.

For some reason I laughed hard at this.

Not sure if it's the Cap-Lock Yelling or the play on the word "WILL".
I had forgotten he sub for for Kwon when he got ejected early in the Bucs game.

Let's gooo young stud !!!!

Exactly. He played almost the entire game and wasn't a liability. I hope he knows the scheme well enough by now to step right in and play great. I didn't expect him to be good, honestly wasn't a fan of the pick initially. But I WANT to be wrong about him. Hope he absolutely lights it up.

To re-state some numbers I posted back up in this thread, and support the idea that Greenlaw will be fine:

PFF rating for Greenlaw in run defense is 55. Not great but not terrible either. His coverage grade is an acceptable 61.

Kwon's run defense was a very low 38. Coverage was an exceptional 81.

So we lose a bit in coverage but gain a good deal in run defense where Warner also has not excelled.

On balance, better run support, not quite as good in coverage. Saleh can scheme better coverage.

And being young / inexperienced, hopefully he has an upward trend over these last eight games. Would love him to be peaking right around playoff time

Rechecked the Bucs game of Greenlaw. He played slow and wasn't doing much. Got in on a few tackles. It was his first game as a rookie in a pinch so can't gauge going forward.

The problem is he will have to cover Graham, Andrews, Cook, Hooper, and Everett down the stretch. Hopefully, he us up to the challenge.
Time to see what your made of kid.
Greenlaw's problem is going to come when he has to get in a mental matchup with the likes of Wilson, Rodgers, and Brees. Make no mistake about it, he will have to prove he won't be a liability in the pass or the run. Every good team and coordinators look for advantages from the opposing team just like the 49ers do. It will be a lot of pressure on Warner and Greenlaw to help compliment this defense without one of its 2 leaders Kwon Alexander.
