Man tweets story of how 49ers draft pick saved his daughter's life

Love this about the guy. Hope he rises above and balls out.
He's a good cockblock. Hopefully he can block a punt for us too
what a great read. great story. love that stuff man. excited for this kid now more than ever. hope he succeeds here.
I could see him used as a hybrid cover defender in some packages given he used to play safety.
I absolutely love this pick

He did what most in his situation would not. Now a huge fan of this kid!

Liked the pick prior to reading this story...like it even more now.
Agrees with others, like the story and rooting for him to back up Kwon or whomever and light it up on ST, too.

Since he played Safety, maybe back up SS and play close to the line for run support or 3rd and short passing situations.

but why? We have our lock-down, once in a generation FS already? He wears #20

Just not the linebacker I would've chosen there. Feel like Blake Cashman was a far superior prospect.

Agreed. Cashman reminds me of Kiko Alonso, minus the dirtyness

you do not make a roster on a nice story unless you are michael sams. i know we needed a linebacker but seems we drafted him for depth when we needed a sold third starter
Nickel coverage hybrid SS/LB?

These days the LB position is really just 2 guys for a lot of teams. Nobody really cares about the SAM since they play less than the 3rd corner. Malcolm Smith is not all that good but good enough for the SAM and another backup inside. We have a good enough run defending dline that we need as many cover LBs as we can get. Plus we can give Greenlaw a lot of snaps while Kwon is recovering which should help him out. If nothing else, should be an upgrade over Lee.

EXACTLY, props to him on making it to the league and overcoming the odds, but we need contributors, not man of the year candidates.
