We can go get people if we have to but some of you fundamentally don't seem to get that by giving up a piece here to get another that you have to NOW replace the piece you just gave up. Greenlaw is the second best LB on the team. He has more than paid his dues and stays largely healthy for us. AND HE IS ONLY GETTING BETTER.

Thank you. No need to say more.

It's a "what have you done for me lately" league. Sure, 30 isn't the end of the road, but it's not like he's magically going to regain a step. And what does having Cam have to do with Gilmore's performance?

I think your undervaluing our linebacker position. Okay you say who's going to cover all these Elite WR's. But Who's got the wheels to cover Russell or Murray, or Hurts, who can take off at any given moment and go head to head with Carson or Cook between the C and G the next. Azeez after one nice game? Marcell Harris?

And who won the super bowl last year? The Bucs with an insufferable pass rush and so-so corners. And two, that are border lines good-elite, and SMART linebackers with speed, can tackle, and can cover a lot of green. It's not like Brady played lights out that day either. He was efficient (21-29 201 yds 0 turnovers). And this is quite similar to how the Niners are built right now.

And why would give up AA?? Just because he doesn't do things that pad his stat line doesn't mean he isn't valuable. And who would you replace him with when Kinlaw is mending to his arthritic knees half the season?

Losing Verrett hurts. A lot. I get that. But to panic and compromise a position of strength giving up an coming player like Greenlaw to MAYBE get a boost at another position would be asinine. There's 16 games left with a great coach. We'll be alright.

Who's going to cover those mobile quarterbacks you say? Well we had Greenlawn the last few years and we still did a s**tty job with him in the lineup covering mobile qbs. So that argument is completely out the door. However, covering elite receivers is something we always struggle with. Especially now that we do not have Sherman in his prime or Jason V anymore. I don't see how a second linebacker is even close to important as a very good corner.

If I am under valuing our linebacker position then you're completely over valuing our corner position. It's all relative I would not want to trade anyone from our team

I'm just going by the importance of positions. Quarterback, DE, left tackle and corner are far more valuable than the linebacker position. And linebacker is easier to replace than those above positions I listed. Greenlaw is great but I'd rather have a corner if it came down to it which hopefully it won't. We just need another corner plain and simple.

The fact that we already have Warner at linebacker and absolutely no one at cornerback should further illustrate my point. I guess we are going to be OK getting bombed on this year and abused by receivers. This will be the end of us in the playoffs for sure. Not linebacker, corner.

Greenlaw has displayed BIG TIME GAME CHANGING PLAYS when it matters. You don't get rid of those type of players. They are essential to a CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS!!!
I thought Al-Shaiir crushed it as well. He was flying around in coverage.

I thought all the LBers were pretty bad vs the run though

I was very impressed with Al-Shaiir. He's a good 3rd LB and can fill in for Greenlaw without a huge drop off in production if he's unable to play

I concur! Al-Shaair seems to keep getting better and better. I never saw him play in college (Florida Atlantic?) but you keep hearing how he was a tackling machine there as a four-year starter.

Hope Greenlaw is o.k.

People on Twitter chattering like something not good is going down with Dre. Hope it's not true. Can't afford more long term injuries to starters.

This is what I saw but there was another tweet that was basically "looking into the Greenlaw story"
