For sure. Even in my original comment , the point was that our line didn't look good when jimmy wasn't at qb. When in reality they weren't bad. But if you have a qb that consistently holds on to the ball way too long, it'll make any line look below average. People see the box score, seeing that the line gave up like 8 sacks and say "poor qb took a beating behind that line."

Skule, the rest of our line, and Kyle are getting the credit they deserve.
The two things that jumped out to me while watching Skule:

-The kid has great feet. He's an easy mover. His kick slide is effortless.
-Dude desperately needs a year or two in an NFL weight room. He looks like he hasn't touched a weight in his life lol.

Agreed. This NFL offseason weight room will do wonders for him if he hits it properly

Happy to hear he did well.

But if CJ was in there instead of jimmy g then we'd have a much different report on Skule . Talking about how we badly need a LT since he gave up 5 sacks. Because in reality it takes CJ three times longer to get rid of the ball.

God this is so true. So so true. I was thinking about it all week leading up to the game. Jimmy G is gonna help him look better because he can throw the ball on time. Jimmy G is a HUGE reason why our oline has been so good this year.

Think it goes both ways.

It does, that's why I said a HUGE reason and not the ONLY reason.

so you agree our oline has been a HUGE reason Jimmy G has been good this year.

Yes, of course I do. Run blocking and pass blocking has been phenomenal especially considering the doom and gloom regarding the unit before the season started. And they pretty much kept it going with a backup LT in.

But, as I was agreeing with another post - I dont believe the oline would be playing as well with a backup QB in.

He may not be cut but in several cases yesterday his punch stopped a pass rusher with what seemed like ease. Maybe I missed some plays.

I'm really just nitpicking. He had a few noticeable knock backs a couple times when the Steelers shaded Casey Hayward over him.

His feet are really good, like shockingly good lol. His kick step is so smooth. The guy just glides through space. Niners may have something here with Skule.

I think that's true of most rookie OLinemen, that they need further development. I like the fact that he's agile and quick, and intelligent. Those are big plusses in Kyles offense.

He'll definitely develop, it looks like he's got a lot of natural strength just being able to hold his own as he currently is, which is a very good thing.

That season in the NFL weight and conditioning room will take him to new heights.

Do you have any of your grades of Staley to compare. Not sure if those numbers are good or great or what
He'll get Myles Garrett next. Gonna be a ginormous challenge.
I thought the PF was ticky-tacky. I realize he was blocking toward his own end zone, so it was a foul, but it didn't seem consistent with the intent of the rule to protect player safety. It wasn't blind at all.

I don't blame Skule at all for not letting his QB take a hit there.

Expect Kyle to run right at Garrett. As great as he is rushing the passer, his run defense is just average. Pound on him for a while and his pass rush will slow down.

Other than Sheldon Richardson, the front 4 of the Browns is not built to stop the run. Shobert and Wilson (LBs) are good, not great at stopping the run. Nothing Juice can handle.

Agree with all of this, especially the part where we run straight at Garrett to wear him a little in the pass game. Why can't it be this Monday
