Justin Skule allowed just one sack last year in 473 pass blocking snaps, and that was to Josh Allen of Kentucky. #49ers https://t.co/R5D9PSXQlb

Trent Brown. Belichick/Gruden must be stoked.

I'd say 20% with Coleman already their guy as the swing-T. PS though.

Yeah but this guy isn't double fisting Twinkies 24/7 from January to April.

We'll see. If someone is hungry enough, they can take Coleman's spot. He was absolutely terrible in Cleveland.

Except he wasn't. He struggled at LT but was solid at RT. He completely shutdown every pass rusher that Minnesota threw at him when the Browns played the Vikings.

He is a much better overall tackle than Gilliam was.

100% agree. I really like Coleman and think he has a legitimate shot to be our future RT when Staley retires and Mcg slides to LT.

Skule isn't a world beater athletically but has a sh!t ton of experience. That's arguably the most important trait to look for late in the draft when looking for a backup swing tackle imo

nah i think he beats out Coleman. Shannahan even said that after the punter pick, they were focusing on guys that they think could make the team. Plus Coleman is terrible...

there is simply no evidence of his time on the Niners to justify you claiming he's terrible lol. Relax bud
Interesting factoid to note from Barrows article on "10 things he learned in OTAs" -- Skule was starting at RT with McGlinchey out. NOT Coleman. I found that to be very, very interesting. We've not heard a single peep about Coleman so far. Perhaps his spot as the swing OT is more in danger than it seemed originally.
He getting skuled in camp?

I guess the Cleveland press are all a bunch of liars?

yeah b/c they always make good decisions right? They just got good 1 year ago. They have been trash for 25+

The swing T situation seems a bit odd. Gilliam was ahead of Coleman last year. Gets released. Then we draft Skule who gets first team reps over Coleman still a year later.

Good point.

Yeah, if you want to make big money over countless years, never play a down and have zero expectations just be a backup T here (Beadles, Gilliam, Coleman). Maybe Skule is next in line for that good life.

Pretty sure I just read that Coleman was starting LT with Staley out.

Coleman was at left tackle. Both Staley and McGlinchey were out.
