He had a good game tonight, but I can't understand why the Browns didn't test him more. Garrett played almost every snap on the right side.

Maybe the Browns thought Shanahan had schemed help on the left side for 2 weeks - preferred to take their chances with McGlinchey

I'm very impressed with Skule's performance in the last two games. I think this dude could definitely develop into a quality NFL tackle.

Probably figured that Garrett can easily beat Skule but Vernon would get walled by McGlinchey so they played the odds that Garrett could still beat McGlinchey and Vernon would fare better versus Skule.

Skule's really good play also saves us draft capital from trading for a guy.

Yes. Staley's injury was a blessing in disguise (hate to say that)...now we know Skule is ok and will improve.
I wonder what Shanny will use the 1st rd on if not OT (thanks to Skule)

Well, it won't get harder for him than week 5 and 6. So far he has been great. I'd be interested to see how much they schemed around him and how well he held up 1:1 against Garrett. Look good from the telecast viewpoint.

It didn't look like they did a lot of it.

Actually, in terms of pass protection, he's been more effective/consistent than both Staley and McGlinchey so far.

When you don't hear the left tackle's name called due to getting beat or a penalty, you know he's had a pretty good game.

Don't be gettin' down on my man Joe. He is one of the best back-up OTs in the league.
