Actually, in terms of pass protection, he's been more effective/consistent than both Staley and McGlinchey so far.

I've been happy with Skule but I'd slow down a bit. I'm sure some of this will be proven or disproven by THL and JohnnyDel but the Niners ran a ton of quick passes last night, that's why our efficiency was high and our yardage was low. It was run and quick passes all night. I actually saw Kittle in one - on one blocking against miles garret twice and stone wall'd him.

Shanny definitely was protecting our online with the game plan.

And has been since game 1. He's been masterful and calculated this way and I'm guessing it was because 1) Richburg didn't have a single snap in pre season (huge unknown and catalyst to the OL), 2. Garoppolo coming back from an ACL / QB's hit 127 and 125 times Kyle's first 2 years, 3) Total unknowns with only 3 depth OL and 4) Continuity with the same 5 so they could handle much more complexity in run schemes now.

And now? He's found so much success with this, why stop now? Instead of scheming the s**t out of the passing game, he's diverted to run schemes in pure wizardry.

We've literally gone from one of the very worst pass protecting teams to one of the the best...with the exact same starting 5. That ladies and gentleman, is a HC evolving before our eyes and recognizing where his weakness was IMHO. That's also giving credit to the OL taking advantage of their strengths too and playing out of their minds. The perfect marriage of scheme and talent realization.

And everyone is benefiting save for WR stats.

Shanahan did a great job helping him and protecting Garoppolo. Its the exact opposite of what Sweet Home Alabama did for his team.

Teams are putting their elite edges against McGlinchey while Skule is getting help against secondary pass rushers?

Yeah I noticed that. Maybe they felt that they could win on both sides that way? Well I don't think it worked because MM did well most plays.
I'm glad they gave him the job instead of Young or Brunskill or even trading for Trent Williams. He's been very very good so far.

Saw him vs. Garrett 1:1 once or twice on the telecast. Interested to see a video breakdown of his play these past two games if one exists.
These wins are great for confidence and experience. Need that for our depth moving forward when Staley is back.

Agree

And we can still use the draft they way we have been w/out the pressure of going in one direction.
