.@49ers @JSkule_58 has started 6 straight games and it's not easy to fill the pro-bowl shoes of @jstaley74 but I saw him on the ground #TNF 1X in 38 pass attempts and gave up 1 sack to a great tandem of pass rushers . #49ers have a found a player! #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/Z7dTD0Dy12

This kid is legit. I'm sold. He has all the traits to be a starting left tackle in the NFL. I think another year or two of development plus time in an NFL weight room could really turn him into a stud LT.

This.
I love the overreactions to short term results. Skule has done a very admirable job as a 6th round rookie but he still has a lot of work to do. He'll be very nice depth in backing up Staley.
Having Joe and McGlinchey out there again means Shanahan won't be concerned with protecting his backup tackles anymore and will lead to more options as far as playcalling goes.

Yeah I've been pleasantly surprised. He's got Joe to show him the nuances...like you said another yr or so in the weight room and we might have something.
We got depth a tackle

I really wonder how much of it is scheme at this point and how much is the fact these two guys have surprised a lot of people and allowed the offense to work?
McGlinchey got off to a rough start this season. Still, it is hard to believe Skule is better. I would say the same thing about Brunskill. He has looked better than McGlinchey did in PP, however, I want McGlinchey back.
Whatever the case, the 49ers have solid depth at the OT slot.

I can't wait for you to be voted MVP again this season. All the haters will complain about it as usual

There is nothing dominant about his play. He does a good enough job to get by but nothing to run home about. He's great as a backup and happy to have him but Staley is far superior

At this point I his career, I don't know if Skule is much worse than Staley. Now, if a very good OT is available in the draft, you take em. Same for a D-lineman, but Skule takes the pressure off of reaching for an OT (draft or FA).
