There is nothing dominant about his play. He does a good enough job to get by but nothing to run home about. He's great as a backup and happy to have him but Staley is far superior

He's done a very good job, especially for a late round player. He is still a rookie and still has upside.

He's played very solid fir us. He's gotten a lot of help from Toilio and others but still to come in and start like that as a 6th rd pick rookie, very impressive!

Brunskill has been even better IMO at RT. All of a sudden we have really nice depth on the OLine

Have to remember this is the guys first 7 games in the NFL. Staley's first year had some rough spots too.

He's doing a fantastic job considering the caliber of rushers coming at him every week. And slowly getting less help as he improved every week.

Between Skule and Brunskill I *really want to believe* the 9ers have a post-Staley player to spot in, but I'm definitely not there yet. Skule in particular has been getting a ton of help through scheming.

How is Skule > McGlinchey a hot take in 2019? Or Brunskill > McGlinchey?

Just because they don't come with 1st round pedigree doesn't mean McGlinchey is outplaying them. So far in 2019...he hasn't.

I said I don't know how that is a hot take. That's all I said. I don't understand how people can act like there is some gigantic gulf between Skule/Brunskill/McGlinchey.

Personally -- I'd start McGlinchey because I don't think people should lose their jobs due to injury. But I'd have a quick hook on him if he isn't performing above what Brunskill has shown this last month.

How is having a differing opinion trolling? Classic webzone.

It's trolling because it took one post for you to (1) go from both Skule and Brunskill over McGlinchey to just Brunskill, and (2) saying they're both better to saying you don't think they should start over him based on a caveat.

Do you think it's messed up that Beathard didn't get his starting job back from Mullens last year?

If not, this whole "you shouldn't lose your job due to injury" thing is just a fig leaf for you.

Maybe trolling is too strong of a word, but you definitely seem to be hot taking.

(also McGlinchey was our lowest rated OL by far when he got injured)

I read your first post as hot-takey (i.e. why I'm asking questions about it and you seem to be backing off the natural implications of it), but perhaps I'm reading it in a way you didn't intend.

This kid played so well today and really for the last few months. With all the injuries that Staley has dealt with this year, it's scary to think where we'd be if Skule hadn't stepped up the way he has!
