See video at 1 minute mark. Ouch.

P.S. Simmons is a monster

should just cut Josh Garnett and give this guy a shot tbh

he will beat him out fair and square in my opinion

I could see that. In terms of guards, if Garnett isn't in the top 3, I don't see why bother keeping him. A first round pick at guard in year 4 not being able to finish in the top 3? Cut/trade.

i also have more confidence in this kid to be a good guard for us than i do the gypsies we have signed. this kid, because he comes from iowa football who can develop offensive linemen and tight ends but not quarterbacks, is solid on his fundamentals and run blocking and if we have the o line coach many think we have. there is no reason why he can not rise quickly

We better be top 5 in rushing this year with all the acquisitions we have had

as giedi.. i think said.... run blocking has not been a big issue going back to 2011,, our pass protection has always been s**t going back to 2011, no matter who the qb is.. its stunning and maddening

I think having new weapons at WR and 2 new running backs (McKinnon on IR) will help our sack totals. People were not getting open which lead to sacks and Coleman and McKinnon should help us get more rushing production so we won't have to pass.

Not to mention the huge upgrades on defense should make us not behind in every single game like before.

So yes I agree we didnt improve pass protection with our offensive line but I think our sacks given up will go down with our other moves.

This is good feedback. Simmons is pretty bad ass but it gives you some insight into what he needs to work on technically.

Has anyone else really broken him down? Hero did a great job on the OP showing what he's capable of doing.

Outside of Garnett and maybe Garland, he may not have a ton of competition here to win a backup job.
This guy will be the real deal.
Reynold and Garnett may just end up playing Center for us... if not this year, maybe next??

From Randy Cross to Sopolu to Dalman , our team has had history if turning a good OG to a very good Center..
Great run-blocker...pass protection meh

That's still better than Laken Tomlinson at 64.2 overall or Mike Person at 67.2 overall. LOL

If that's in college, it'll be worse in the NFL

Well, it's PFF so it's supposed to be graded the same way. But I do agree, it's about to get much tougher now.

I wonder if anyone's compared OL grades in college to the NFL and see if there's any stability.
