Was Richburg even that much better though. Feels like Niners have always sucked at pass pro. We're pretty damn good at run blocking tho
Chris Jones is a tough handle and it was a lot or blitzes. Somebody has to be open. Either Jimmy didnt see them or no one was winning their routes, I actually dont think the online was that bad.

This trend is not going away. Wanna beat the Niners, get a good interior tackle because Niners interior OL sucks. Either we play the arms race or end up like the Rams.

I want to upgrade there as well I'm just saying that was not as much as the o lines fault imo. If it was a four man rush I'd be s**ttijg on them but they were sending a bunch of guys and we couldn't find the open receiver.
Poor Garland got hit with a bull-pull move that sent him flying onto his face on Jimmy's first INT.
Garland is a UFA - gotta bring him back, right?

Ya Rich was a bit better. But ya, it's been awhile since we had good pass pro. Especially a good reliable pro bowl type C. Newberry was the last one we had.

Solid back up at Center and Guard, most definitely a must to bring back!!!

They weren't good. Jones owned the interior

Richburg is better at pass pro then he is at run blocking. Richburg is so weak thiugh. Constantky pished into the backfield. Garland actually gets push in the run game. His pass pro isnt up to par. Quality back up for sure. Question is will teams be looking to poach our backups?

Chris Jones made it very apparent that the Chiefs had their difference making interior guy, and the Niners didn't. If DJ Jones was healthy the game might have been different IMO.

and Westin richburg would of made a difference. If just one of those passes doesn't get tipped at the line we get a first down and possibly run out the clock on them.

This is something that needs to be analyzed. It seemed like JG had more tipped or knocked down passes at the LOS over any QB.

Is it the OL not engaging long enough or technique (keeping them from getting their arms up) or moving DL out of passing lanes, DL just really rushing and dropping back or staying at the LOS and reading his eyes to time jumps, JG passing into windows via tunnel vision, the routes designs moving more defenders into passing windows, a tell, etc?

A bit of all of the above, however, in looking at specifics, it is clear the IOL is not a strong PP unit. Person is below average. RG must be upgraded. Period.

Garland was quite good as a run blocker but struggled in PP. A lot of that may have had to do with inexperience but technique was clearly lacking in the playoffs..

Richburg is a very good PP but availability is the issue.

Scheme has a lot to do with it as well. I'm not going to suggest I have the answer. Every QB has some passes batted down. However, it is clear Kyle's offense likes to throw inside the numbers a lot. That makes the IOL weakness even more glaring. Both need to change, IMO. IOL needs to get better. Jimmy needs to get comfortable throwing outside the numbers.
