I remember hearing about this when he was our coach ????
That's totally disappointing. JIm's a really talented coach, but stuff like that kind of Neanderthal mindset really holds his talents back. He's good with the players, can relate to pretty much every position. He can coach pretty much every position on the field (specially defense) and certainly he's had good success with quarterbacks like Luck, Smith, Kaepernick, and so on.

But if he doesn't get rid of that kind of limited mindset and really grow as an offensive coach, that Bo Shembechler offense will be his offense for the rest of his life. Sadly. I hope his new Michigan OC can knock some sense into him and help him grow as an offensive coach. From an offensive standpoint, Kyle is light years ahead of Jim in terms of X's and O's. and in terms of defense, so far Harbaugh has an edge but now Kyle has his Aldon Smith without the alcohol problems -- I think it's this year Kyle outdoes him on the defensive side. Hopefully the record will show it too.

Wilton Speight!
.
Free Wilty, longer arms than bosa
Looks like he has his golf game together too:

CJ: "I mean, actually we're pretty competitive on that, but it's pretty even. Most of the time we'll go with four guys and [QB] Wilton Speight is actually a really good golfer, we found out he's really good. So, it will be me and Nick playing best ball versus Wilton and someone who's not as good but he's decent, don't want to drop any names [WR] Max McCaffrey."

I agree with this article. No need to keep CJ as the 3rd QB if he can be traded.

.Carrying a 3rd quarterback doesn't make sense, and I believe Shannahan has the confidence to be fine carrying a quarterback such as UDFA Wilton Speight on the practice squad so he has someone who is familiar with his offense. https://dearoldgold.com/2019/06/05/iowa-football-cj-beathard-danger-losing-job-san-francisco/amp/

I think CJ's had enough chances, and I think Wilton will be just as good as CJ as the practice squad QB.
We have a Wilton Speight sighting at 0.54, and he wasn't holding a clipboard:

He didn't have any pass rush either.

It will be really interesting how he handles preseason blitzes. I'll be looking forward to seeing those.
Please no more of Harbaugh's failed products on the team. Harbaugh's reputation as a qb whisperer comes from the fact that he had a couple of talented players at the position that were naturally gifted. He's a moron, as evidenced by the whole chicken is a nervous bird dumbassery.
Did anyone watch this scrub at Michigan? He sucked!

He did pretty good his sophomore year. 61.6% completion percentage, QBR rating of 139.8 and, 2538 yards passing. Injuries got him in his junior and senior seasons, so he's another guy that's an injury magnate. But again, we're talking practice squad potential here. Not 2nd string QB - that's Nick's spot right now.

I think it's more that Harbaugh's offense in general sucked, but I get your point.

Lets hope in year 3, he'll show some promise even to compete for the 2nd string...
Chip Kelly did a good job coaching Wilt up last year, I watched all but the his best game of the year was against AZST. WS showed steady improvement throughout the season.
