Gotta work on that!

The good news is the hard part is getting open (separation), he can work on hands. It worked for Vernon "stone hands" Davis, though he never really became a natural pass catcher.

It's weird because Pettis' hands weren't an issue last year. Maybe just feeling "off" right now.

If we do that. chances are that everything that looks good now will fall apart. i do not care how they look in camp, the o line even if you did not have two guys out.. is just not very good at all

It wasn't an issue with him last year in games so i wouldn't worry about it

It's a sign they are having to think too much on their assignment diverting their concentration on making the catch. Give it time.

O-line will be ok with Jimmy's quick release

Too many bugs and high humidity in Iowa makes some people grumpy.

Yup. He can't stand back there and take the sacks he took in the first 3 ganes last year. You'll have games like that but it should be once or twice a year not 3 consecutive weeks.

With inproved play at the skill positions which I have no doubt they will get because the NFL has set it up that way he should be fine. I really like Pettis, Goodwin and Samuel, especially as a group. Kittle is already good.

OL is not bad it's just not really good on the interior. Hopefully Richburg comes back healthy. Tackles are very good and could be great if MM improves his pass blocking. Tomlinson and Person are serviceable. They're very good at run blocking and should improve the longer they play together. All that should help Jimmy play at a high level. The offense is designed to get the ball out quick. The key as always is Jimmy. A good QB does for an OL what a good pass rush does for the secondary. Just stay healthy.

I don't know what he's sayin'.
Every single year i see the videos and analysis coming from TC and every year i feel optimistic. This year it's different, I actually feel like it's a genuine optimism, almost an excitement instead of just relief that Niners football is back.

Honestly i feel like we are going to win the division this year. I know that's a bold statement but i stand by it.

I'm just an old guy that's gotten excited about a couple new players or the team's prospects in the pas only to be disappointed. I used to think that way when I would date a new woman. This could be the one. Then reality would set in. I just learned to be more patient and wait to see where things go. That way you don't get let down if it doesn't work out. The old saying is never get to high or too low. Still looking forward to the new season but I'm just not expecting too much. If we go 8-8 I'll consider it a big step toward making the playoffs in 2020. If we go 7-9 or even 6-8 I'm not going to start screaming for coaching and GM changes. I don't want to start over agin and have another rebuilding plan. I just need to see some positive improvements in certain players and in the team overall.

well I am with you. Except, I'd be pissed if we went 8-8 if I'm just being honest. These guys in the front office get too much of a leash. How much longer do we have to lose? Only 3 winning seasons in like 15 years.

There's no guarantees for next year either....Buckner will probably ask for more money this upcoming offseason. Which means less cap space we can spend on bad position groups like the secondary or o-line. And so on. They gotta go for broke this year. At least make some noise in the wildcard round if you can't compete with the Rams or Seahawks. God. Even going one and done like the freaking Texans would be a great f**king season.
