Hurd, McKinnon, Jimmy, several other free agents, OLinemen were hurt last year and are still recovering, so it's a combination of folks getting dings over the offseason (Brieda) and Mostert not healing right, and the 49ers just drafting injured players (Hurd).

So far ACL gambles like Richard Sherman worked out, and injured guys like Bosa have time to heal up, and at least Bosa's injury doesn't look all that serious - according to Dee Ford.

While I am concerned that ShanaLynch is continuing to draft and acquired free agents that are injured - the fact that Richard Sherman worked out, and so far Kentavius Street's not had any setbacks, gives me confidence that the 49er medical staff is doing it's part.

Just asking for a friend but do the Niners own a whole ward at Santa Clara Valley Hospital?
If not I bet Paraag has got some Frequent Visitor Reward Card deal happening.

I'm pulling for BeatHard to put up some real good numbers with the WR's and pass catchers we have so I'm hoping for a 3rd (long shot I know) but 4th, 5th, or 6th round pick and I'll be happy.

Who is going to trade for him?

Not sure there is a market.

If he puts up numbers that are good enough to get a 3rd round pick, why not keep him? That would mean he is looking better than Mullens unless Nick really improved his arm strength in the off season.

I wouldn't write him off just yet. He's a tough competitor whose been behind the eight ball, but the man has heart.

Everything depends on what he has done this off-season and what he'll do this preseason. We soon shall see.

1-9 record with 12 TD/13 INT over two seasons. 0-5, 8/7 last year. I'm not holding my breath.

True enough. He also had some special plays--though not enough. But he was thrown to the wolves on a bad team.

Ideally, a rook should sit and observe for a season or two, ala Steve Young (I'm not saying he's Steve Young).
If you need something to cheer you up go watch the mic'd up video with George Kittle from OTAs this week. You can either watch it on the team website or the official team app if you have it. Some mildly amusing stuff on there.
Waiting for OTAs and training camp has become a compete waste of time. There is such limited information ands hardly worth following...#preseason or bust.

Pre season looks like fun teams to play at least like the cowboys and chiefs
Does phase two of the OTAs start today and when will we hear something about how the practice went?

Better than his own Jimmy ward, Ben Peterson (our head coach of training) was with a medical comapny.

So what does it add up to? Expect lighter practices, more rotation of subs, and maybe an effort to find players with fewer "miles on them" in the draft.

IF he looks better than Mullens, then you might keep him. But Mullens actually won games so, even if he looked better, I'd still choose Mullens. BeatHard has to look *significantly* better in my book, for him to make the team over Mullens.

Yup. Results matter more than "potential" or where the two were drafted. Mullens was clearly better last year, and Beathard already had more experience. Preseason should sort that out pretty quick. And if we saw the difference so did Kyle and Lynch. I could see a scenario if Beathard showed marked improvement and another team wanted Mullens (due to a QB going down somewhere) where we might part with him for a player or a pick, but I expect Mullens to be our #2.
What's going on Gents?? Any juicy gossip from OTAs yet?
