On other side, some good work in coverage with pass breakups from S Marcell Harris, S Jaquiski Tartt and CB Richard Sherman. Sherman also just missed a PBU on a deep ball to Courtland Sutton, who made an acrobatic catch. Also appeared Armstead would have had a sack before throw.

I think Jimmy gets a series. With the injury to Persons, don't think he'll get 2
Yup. I've never really understood this though. What is 1 or even 2 series going to accomplish? It just seems pointless. The most you'd get out of it is getting back into game day pre game routine.

Yeah, with the OL in flux - I doubt he's in there for more than one series.

Linebacker Fred Warner also continued his strong camp, showing up in coverage and the run game. Read and reacted to a swing pass on third down for a would-be stop to get the defense off the field. Niners very encouraged by his progress entering Year 2.

He was our best player last game by a mile. Heal up for the 53.

You're probably right but I'm concerned about Jimmy not getting enough game reps. I know he gets a lot of snaps in practice but he has fewer game snaps than Beathard. The chemistry between receiver and QB doesn't happen overnight. You can be careful only so long but eventually he has to get out there and play. He has to get over any fear of re-injuring the knee so he can just concentrate on playing.

That'll do it for the open practices for the #49ers for this year. Next time they hit practice field, media will only get to observe stretching and limited individual. Niners and Broncos meet Monday night in preseason game 2. Starting then, Niners will play 3 games in 10 days.

No more practice recaps from this point on.

I think it's a somewhat benefit in Jimmy's case coming back from an ACL, just to have a mental confirmation on his repaired knee in game like situation.

If Jimmy gets a 3 and out series, Kyle might give him a 2nd one. If Jimmmy gets a first down or more, he'll get 1

Adrenaline, baby. All the physical and mental therapy in the world cannot prepare you for game-time adrenaline. You've got to see how the mind and body work pumped up after almost a year off.

Thus asked the Civil War era doctor
Cut it off. Put it in cyrofreeze. Reattach at the end of the season. Just in time to cut his fat ass
