This is a guy who is regarded by many, including myself, as a DL guru with reputation of making reclamation projects work. Yet when DL underperforms it's always on the DC and not Kocurek. If he is to get the praise for dominant performances, he needs to get some of the blame for weak performances too...

I think the defensive line has played solid during his tenure here, so he gets some leeway.

The defensive philosophy has switched a bit under Wilks, and the dline isn't performing well as a result.

Both Kocurek and Wilks need to get together to figure it out.

The new scheme sucks and minimizes the DL personnel.

Bosa isn't gonna sniff 10 sacks unless Wilks changes the scheme.

The whole thing just looks disjointed out there. Even prior to these last 2 losses things looked off, but I chalked it up to learning curve with Wilks
A lot of d line play is about fight and want to. Hard to kill the coaches on guys simply being beat. you think Wilks coached bosa to get manhandled by Minnesota's RG. A lot of things can be blamed on scheme but lining up and beating the guy in front of you is not one of them. Now dialing up some creative pressures once you have established the pass rush isn't getting home is on Wilks. Where were the 2nd half adjustments? And at one point he just went blitz crazy and it was not helpful. The slot cb blitz is too predictable. His blitzes don't create any free rushers and the qb still gets the ball off on time.
^ yeah but all of a sudden guys that normally win their 1on1s are now getting dominated? That and everyone just looks lost out there. Something is off.

good points on Kocurek. sure seemed like he was getting more credit than DR in terms of the d line play. Yet we are all killing Wilks. I'm at fault on that as well.

Someone made a good point and said by changing our coverage scheme, it's allowing qb's to get the ball onto a little faster vs our old scheme.

New DC threw out the scheme that worked and fit the personnel.

Definitely off. I really want to hear from Wilks on what it is, because if he doesn't fix it STAT, he's gonna lose the players. They know what they're capable of, so being put in position where they can't do their thing gotta be frustrating.

Been saying it since 2004, the 49ers need a Vince Wilfork type DT. But noooooope they continue to bring in 300 pounders who's tall and have problems stopping the run.

Yeah the DL is the #1 issue right now. It's alarming and needs to be fixed fast. We play 2 playoff QBs in the next 3 weeks and those are easy L's if we can't pressure the QB.

That was tough to watch after the last few seasons of DLine domination. They got stoned by the Viking Oline.

I didn't see any stunts or just some creativity to get pressure

With the CB blitzes, they were showing it before the snap...hide that s**t better.

How can a defensive line with this much talent, this much high pay and past historical success be this bad? We added Hargrave and Ferrell and Randy Gregory. Drake Jackson is a 2nd year player now.

They should be much BETTER than they were.

WTH?

Shanny needs to pull wilks and talk to him and make sure their on the same page. Pull out the schemes from last year that Ryan's and Saleh ran and see what changed. I mean it sounded like Wilks didn't change anything but clearly something has

No doubt, we'll be using yet another first round pick on a DL In the near future.
