They should be much BETTER than they were.

WTH?

It's super frustrating. They act like a defense who has lost the TOP for 16 straight weeks and this was a week 17 game.

There is no excuse for this unit to be this bad. There is plenty enough talent there. It's just inexcusable.

Yes I agree.
  1. Trent Williams - $12,539,424
  2. Arik Armstead - $11,975,883
  3. Nick Bosa - $11,010,000
  4. George Kittle - $9,477,751
  5. Fred Warner - $9,049,000
  6. Deebo Samuel -$8,653,529
  7. Javon Hargrave -$6,595,000
  8. Kyle Juszczyk - $6,565,221

Top 8 earnings this year. Almost 30 million for three DL who can't sack Kirk Cousins.

I like Ganja Greg, but I honestly think that he being here has put 95s development behind as well as 94's ability to be steady...

For the years past our coverage and pass rush works in unison. You rush 4 drop 7 mixing cover 3 and rotating shell and get qbs confuse as hell. Now its all blitz and press man cover 1.

I never understood why we gave Armstead such a big contract. He runs like he's got concrete blocks on his shoes. I know he's stout against the run but Buckner was so much better.

Yeah. He is a rotational type guy, at best. Way overpaid. The last two years especially, he has not produced.
Obviously, the guys need to step it up, but the biggest issues I see are:

1) There's zero depth--like literally none. One of the main guys sits to catch his breath, and there's a massive drop off in terms of pass rushing--Drake Jackson is trash; Clelin Ferrell is trash; Javon Kinlaw is trash; Kevin Givens is just meh. Subsequently, this forces the main guys to take a ton of reps. The wide 9 is one of the most physically demanding fronts in football. The front is predicated on attacking in waves of max effort reps. Bosa, Armstead and Hargrave are running on fumes by the 4th Quarter.

2) The secondary simply isn't giving them enough time. The guys are winning, but the secondary is allowing QBs to get the ball out. I don't watch the all-22, but I felt like DeMeco did an awesome job of disguising stuff and forcing QBs to hold the ball for just a second longer thus allowing the DL to get home.

Maybe the DC is the problemNot so much with the scheme but the way he coaches. Saleh was always down on the field urging his guys in and congratulating them when they came off the field after a big play. Ryans did the same. I believe Wilks sits up in the both. Maybe the players just miss that go-go attitude.

Scheme? For the back 7, sure. But DL? It's wildly getting beat 1on1. Several OL's have not only stoned the DL but did it without extra help.

For a GM who's sacrificed the entire roster building up the greatest DL in history, Lynch has to feel sick to his stomach right now.

it's been this way the whole season. It's not just one bad week. We are bottom half of the league in sacks. one issue for sure is there is no depth at all. our back ups aren't good players and they come in and provide nothing. Givens, Kinlaw, Drake, and CF would all struggle to make the Eagles roster. .

and we need to ask is AA washed up. i mean dude isn't doing s**t out there.

They picked AA over Buckner and have been trying to fix the interior of the DL every year since then. Money was an excuse. Just look what they have spent since then. Buckner is 10 times the player of AA and in my opinion better than Hargrove over both of their careers. Buckner was the heart and soul of the defense here.
