The DL needs to be reloaded. Edge needs young talent. The interior DL needs way more beef inside. They need to add one or two guys whose strength is run defense. If they go into 2024 with Armstead and Hargrave as base IDL, it'll be another long season of s**tty run defense.

I'm wondering if we should move away from wide 9 or at the least have other schemes rotated more etc. do you think that's realistic or of any benefit?

What ever wilks did wasn't even wide 9. It was some crap he mixed together with his own stuff.
A.J. Epenesa Might be someone to look at in FA. Young, Good size, versatile and initial projections have him at 5.6 per. Lawson might be another option.

I'm torn on the wide 9, but Kocurek is one of the best DL coaches in the NFL. I don't think they'll get rid of it unless they get a new DC.

It was "crowd the line and leave all the DBs 10 yards off the ball"
Turns out not only was KC playing a backup at LG, he played most of the game with a torn UCL

It worked well 2019- 2021. Get a real run stuffer in there and high motor, hungry guys opposite of Bosa that can win one on one and it will be rejuvenated.

We need Jackson, Beal, And Davis to take that next step next season.
They need to learn the Justin Smith / Aldon Smith play. One player hook and hold the offensive linemen. The other player stunts and runs free to the QB. The Chiefs cheat on every play. So we need to also. Start playing the way they play and you will have a chance.

I want to draft T'Vondre Sweat. Big boy to collapse the middle and stop the run

Good call.

Maybe Dorance Armstrong and Charles Johnson [Panthers] to the list of possible.

They'd play 100x better than Chase Old.

That gets called as defensive holding often now.
We need someone who is 5 ft wide and weighs 500 pounds to clog the middle

Why should it get called? KC does worse from the offensive side by far.
