Lions also added DJ Reader to beef up their already top tier run defense.

Geez. Lions and Packers are no joke.
Can we just move this thread to the FA and Draft boards?

lol NC gonna switch to the winning team, gonna have a new formula folks, tier 1 DL all the wayyy
One cannot simply just leapfrog the caliber of a player like an Earnest Brown IV
Did the 49ers get better, worse, or the same on the defensive line.

2023: Heading into season
DE- Jackson- Ferrell
DT- Armstead- Kinlaw - Davis
DT- Hargrave- Givens
DE- Bosa - Beal

2024: Pre- Draft
DE- Floyd- Gross Matos- Jackson
DT- Elliott- Collins- Davis
DT- Hargrave- Givens
DE- Bosa- Beal

It's already better in pass rush and run stopping than the 2023 group, and the draft is still to come.

I think Drake Jackson gets moved for an whether it be cut or traded or stashed on IR, I don't see him on the 53 man roster. I have no doubt the 9ers aren't done adding to DE either. And I agree, the 9ers are much better overall at D-line as of right now. I can't wait to see this defense step on the field.

Outside of the easiest pick known to mankind (Nick Bosa), is D.J. Jones this regimes best DL draft pick? Armstead and Buckner were from the Baalke regime.

For a FO trying to win a Superbowl through the DL, they kind of suck at it via the draft.

I like that they pivoted to cheap 1-year veteran former 1st round picks though (via FA and trades).

Outside of Nick Bosa and DJ Jones, yeah, they've whiffed on a bunch of DL picks. I think Kentavius Street was probably the best pick after those guys factoring in where he was selected, and even he was just a rotational player.

What's wild is the identified Jordan Willis and Charles Omenihu as guys to trade for- both worked out very well. Ebukam was a good signing and I'd argue Dee Ford was a good player, in spite of the injuries. Trenches is where we probably are the weakest in the draft.

Bosa struggles against the run, especially running QB's cause he can't set an edge.

This lost us the super bowl!
