I was just thinking about how many times this team was bailed out by our ferocious pass rush from last year, and it really hit me after today's game. We're a shell of ourselves from last year because of the pass rush or lack thereof. It's incredibly disheartening when our defense gets the opposing offense in an obvious passing situation and knowing the opposing QB is going to have all day if we don't send an extra man or two on passing downs.
Kinlaw - As expected: raw as hell. We're getting almost nothing out of our 3technique in regards to rushing the passer. We all knew Kinlaw would take some time to develop, but the drop off from Defo has been killing us these last few games.
AA - Played well to start the year, but he's just a guy at the moment.
EDGE - we have no EDGE. Dee Ford is hurt like always, and Bosa, a quintessential game-changer, was lost for the year in week 2.
49ers have a few nice rotational players in Kevin Givens and Kerry Hyder, who has exceeded our expectations, but these are not guys we should be relying on.

other teams find ways to make things work. not sure why lynch does not at least make an effort. its a position crying out for help in my opinion
The 49ers have 0 cap space to sign a vet. Matthews isn't coming back to the NFL for scraps. Giving Ziggy Ansah that much $ to play a game and a half was a terrible investment.

The way he got pressures and set the edge and would shoestring tackler wilson...when Bosa went down it shouldve hit you...with no Bosa or Buckner and with Dee Ford constantly hurt, the best part of the team was crippled

Yep. Bosa is the straw that stirs the drink. Strong play from Warner and Verrett can't wholly make up for it.

I hope we go edge rusher in either round 1 or 2 in next year's draft. Hopefully Dee Ford will just retire or something. What a waste he is right now

to be honest he'll be stupid if he was to retire while collecting big fat checks with no harm being done by another player to his body.

Trust me, I am the Nick Bosa guy on this board. As a realist, I knew in my gut the season was over when he went down. Still, I revert back to the hopeful and naive fan before every Sunday only to be let down.

Defo wasn't a steady pass rusher on a snap-to-snap basis, but you knew he would eventually land one of those arm overs for a sack almost every other week.

EDGE - we have no edge rushers. Dee Ford is hurt like always, and Bosa, a quintessential game-changer, was lost for the year in week 2. We literally have no edgerush.
