The fact we aren't pursuing any of these dudes may mean they're confident in the Drake. Him stepping up
in that role would be our best case scenario, though I'd still love a deep rotation.

I think the 49ers should do more about the nickel DE spot opposite Bosa. There's no guarantee that Drake can step up. We may think and hope he steps up, but I'd like to have a proven producer there as a fallback plan. I don't want to pin those hopes on Ferrell/Drake. I know 10+ sack guys are too expensive, but there's a number of vets that could fill that role of 'solid' pass rusher that are still available. Perhaps sign a vet that is willing to take a one year deal, play well in 2023 playing on a talented 49ers DL, then move on for a bigger deal in 2024.

I think a lot of us feel this way. If John really believes winning a Superbowl starts with the DL, then he's got to get some veteran security opposite Bosa to complete that DL. Maybe another run stuffer inside too.

We are hoping Drake steps up and that Kocurek can improve Ferrell, but neither of those are 'plan A' worthy imo. So maybe have three 'plan B' options (Drake, Ferrell, solid vet).
When it comes to interior run stuffers, I agree another one could help. Hargrave is not a run stuffer, Kinlaw is unreliable, Givens is not a run stuffer, KDavis is a complete unknown. TY McGill is okay in that role, but another DT that is difficult to move would help.

John and Kyle have more wins then losses on knowing better then us regarding plan A or B from a a fan standpoint.
especially concerning O-line and D-line depth…
if they are saying it's fine imma believe them. If they pick up a veteran before the season Il understand why.
if they don't I trust their judgment at this point…3 nfc championships in 4 years and the roster speaks for itself

But on the OL and DL, do you feel they've built up both units to Superbowl-winning standards annually? I think it's been proven they've been missing pieces from both.

They are both much closer than the secondary is.
Might be the first year they have a QB capable of a SB winning standard too if Brock continues his play.

True too. That secondary and run defense were taking turns on failing against the Chiefs in the 5 minute collapse. We've seen the pass rush struggle to close when they needed to close. QB incapable over transcending any of that to just make one play.
Which goes back to the poster....just trust them because we've gotten far?
I trust them to give us a shot? But enough to close the deal? Not quite.
As to Brock, I believe in the kid too.

To act like that is some type of weakness is not living in sports reality.

Adoing one more premier OL, ER and/or CB/S (back then or now) might have just been enough. We had to ride or die with the QB and health obviously but we certainly were missing on that one piece elsewhere too.
