More reason to focus on Hunter if these are the prices for these FA edge rushers.
See this bugs me. 7.5m for a decent pass rusher who wakes up in december. We can live with that. But we got locked out in the rain and snow. This offseason could be over already. No. More drama. At some point we need to get all the guys under the tent and plan. We're still moving puzzle pieces around.

I set the record for most incoherent post ever. You got a problem with that?
Point is, we could have had clark for 7.5m. Why couldn't we get it done?

Technically, Florida is a different country so Bosa does need a visa to play here.

Hopefully it's because he's a POS as a human. He's in decline anyways.

Seconded. Bro this forum talked soooooo much sh*t about Clark, you think he can sit in a room with our GM and not fold like a baby bear when Lynch asks him to his face "are you a POS looking for a contract or looking to "rebrand/rename" yourself?
Clark aint rebranding anything, give him money and cross your fingers he tries lol, no place in a niner lockeroom for that.

And played 906 snaps last year on the green concrete of the metrodome.
We can easily get him with a promise of 650 regular season snaps on the comfy grass of Levi's.
Dooo eeet.
UPDATE: Some article says the vikings might need Trey Lance for their rebuild. That' would be an incredibly difficult loss. But okay.
UPDATE2: Interesting article https://ninerswire.usatoday.com/lists/49ers-danielle-hunter-trade-rumors-vikings/
Wasn't aware of the surgery. History lesson: the year before we signed Dee Ford to our disasterous deal, he played the most snaps in his career, 1022. So we cant go through that again. We have to structure any long term deal with some reasonable protections for any back or neck related stuff. Are we allowed to buy an insurance policy? Probably not since no one does it. And we have to sign Bosa first. He' comes first. Another reason to get it done.

Speaking of injuries - look who Chase Young may go to

Wishful thinking.
Imagine if he could play like he did as a rookie; what a terror our DLine would be.

Man I'll take Young on a rental and have him playing his ass off for us knowing he's looking for a long term deal. I'll happily take a 3rd comp. This team needs to go all out and stop bs around and build the best team possible to deal with Hurts, Mahomes, Allen, Burrow

I wouldn't give Clark $7.5M, that's way too pricy IMO, now $4.5M with not so easy to reach incentives ok, but I'm not gonna give someone that much, plus the 49ers don't have that kind of cap room to devout to one player, not when the opening day roster, pre Bosa extension, would leave us between $4M-$6M under when all 70 players count(53 man & 17 man PS).

What do you think of the idea of hedging neck or back injury risk with a 3rd party insurance policy of some kind. Is that even legal? Does it make any monetary sense? We can't have another tragedy like ford.
