No! 8 to 10? How can that be? Didnt he get 13m last year? I thought i saw that on over the cap.

This was reported last week don't know if its true
"Ngakoue recently said on SiriusXM NFL Radio that he hopes to join a contender. In mid-June, three months after free agency opened, the list of suitors has probably been reduced. One source with a team monitoring the edge rusher market said, as of a month ago, Ngakoue was seeking a contract in the range of $8 million to $10 million per year. Recent market activity for Floyd ($7 million base salary) and Clark ($5.5 million base) has been below that, and both veterans signed one-year deals."

The more he goes without a team the more the price drops.

Is he hot on a multi year deal?

Probably wants at least 2yrs. From what he says its more about chasing a ring. Whats crazy is he's played for 5 different teams the last 5 years and has only had 1 probowl in his career. Not sure if he is a liability in the run game? Maybe he's just a pass rush specialist but I think that's all we really need. Dude causes fumbles too almost averaging 3 a year
I'd settle for James Houston. Older, cheaper but had a good year for the Ravens.

Justin houston 73.6 pff snap count almost 400. 9.5 sacks.

You know, that's not so bad. Played every season. Looks like an upgrade over jackson. If the bigger studs hold out for money, why not houston.

Not that it couldn't work but hasn't Houston played a 3-4 outside linebacker most of his career?

Maybe. Pfr says he weighs 270 though how did Harbaugh use him last year?
Houston makes the most sense to me.

Still has to be accounted for when he's on the field - very disruptive.

The $$ would have to be right AND we must keep developing Drake w/enough snaps.

We don't want to Lance him.

I'm really hoping Drake Jackson has an awesome year. The quality of our defense really depends on him. If he's not majorly improved, defenses will just attack him and it'll force us to either rely on our backups more or to play guys like armstead out of position sometimes.

i have this feeling though that Austin Bryant is going to be a big surprise for us this year.i just hope we can get quality play opposite of bosa, which shouldn't be too hard with Bosa/Armstead/Hargrave alongside them, it's crazy how much pressure and attention those guys will get.
