Seriously though 10 years is ridiculous, I mean of course don't assault anyone but I doubt he will even sniff jail. But lynch and Kyle will give him a short ass leash, hell they might cut him.

It wasn't meant to be a political statement. It was just the latest example of crazy laws that we have. It just happened yesterday so it was fresh in my mind.

lol I like to see that statues in detail. Wonder if it's something stupid like, it's ok to leave a case of bottled water for people to pick up at the line, but you can't hand them to people.

Givens is a fringe player. Fringe players don't get a lot of leeway with teams when something goes wrong. He might survive this. He might not.

There is always another fringe player candidate waiting in the wings for a job.

If convicted, he can face up to 10 years for MISDEMEANOR assault in Maryland.

Givens picked the wrong place to have a fight. If he did this in CA, he'd literally have the option of maybe a week in jail time or a diversion program at most.

From what I read it sounded like he showed up as they were getting ready to leave and take an UBER. He confronted them in the hall.

seriously haha. People get into altercations all the time. Without any deadly weapons or hospitalizations, it would be insane for them to do anywhere near 10 years in prison

The DA always starts out with trumped up charges. Charges will get reduced as part of the process. After all it's a misdemeanor therefore there will be no jail time. Any decent lawyer will keep him out of jail no problem. Most likely very little blowback from the league because it was a fight with a guy and there were no serious injuries. No serious injuries equals no felony. He'll be fine and participating in training camp.
