Athletic FB gives flexibility for KS to create blocking or receiving mismatches. The FB can be aligned or moved anywhere along the LOS to get a +1 man advantage or more on that half of the ball. In the passing game most fullbacks stay in to block, and sending him out can create and advantage if he is seen entering the route combo.

pretty much, it's not rocket science and I have no idea why someone is trying to argue why he's on the team.

SF ran out of 21 personnel last yr 42% of the time and one of the reasons SF was top 3 in yards per play on 1st down (there's a big correlation with that stat and being a good offense). Having him on the field helps keep teams in base, yet allows SF to have an extra pass catcher if they want. He's a miss match vs LBers. It also helps sell play-action having a FB on the field...also he's a f**king good blocker and helps in the run game

It's not hard to get. If they were playing a real game vs KC they'd be in 21 personnel all day because their LBers are trash. I'd expect a big day from Kittle/Juice/and our RBs in the passing game.

I don't think anyone is arguing why he's on the team...

My opinion is that we OVER PAID him...

Every NFL player who hits FA gets overpaid.

According to his position he's overpaid

However according to his talent he might be underpaid

Either way some of that pressure today could have been alleviated have Shanahan ran more plays from the shotgun regardless if it was a run or pass

Finally a game that resembled Rathman production.

More please.
Juice is a glorified guard who can catch and run.

Steve Smith sr. had some pretty sick stiff arms back in his day.

so did hearst. i guess i meant on our team in recent memory
I'd like to see him block more now. I know he can catch but with Staley out and Mgcggclinchecky always hurting , the oline is letting these hurries on Jimmy G get out of hand.

He should line up more in the backfield to block instead of the TE spot IMO. It's getting crazy RN with this oline.
Shanahan is a smart guy. He saw the punishment Garoppolo took. He'll make the adjustments needed to see that it doesn't happen again.
#91 and #97 really put the hurt on our OL and Jimmy. That's where i thot we would use our 3rd and 4th TEs, and Au jus. Turns out i was wrong. Wonder why. Kyle sure did a great job of protecting JG first two games. This one....not so much. Ok...not at all.

The hit by Tuitt was just a missed assignment by person I believe. The rest of the hits they left players wide open... I think that's the game we were happy to play.

I told you all before, the signing of the Juke was a JOKE, and wasted some money on him..

You should hit him up on social media and educate him on how to run a proper NFL offense.

Share your thoughts with Kliff Kingsbury too since his offense is almost entirely run out of the shotgun and he can't get a run game going to save his life and his QB is getting the hell beaten out of him. He doesn't see a need for a fullback either.
