The need for a Fullback?

I'm guessing they will negotiate a long term deal before they have to exercise the $5M club option for 2020. He is 28 years-old so maybe 4 years for $16M with some guaranteed.

However according to his talent he might be underpaid

Either way some of that pressure today could have been alleviated have Shanahan ran more plays from the shotgun regardless if it was a run or pass

You should hit him up on social media and educate him on how to run a proper NFL offense.

Share your thoughts with Kliff Kingsbury too since his offense is almost entirely run out of the shotgun and he can't get a run game going to save his life and his QB is getting the hell beaten out of him. He doesn't see a need for a fullback either.

I never insinuated that his offense was improper.

However it does make sense to do more shotgun and Pistol formations when the other team is blitzing a lot

It's one of the reasons why those formations were invented.

Keep in mind to Garoppolo is coming off of a major injury and he was hit several times and sacked once in the game.

I completely understand the need for playing under Center when you're trying to get the running game going which I thought was excellent with the exception of the two fumbles.

Not to mention having a rookie left tackle starting in place of Joe Staley.

But that's really my only gripe.

I believe the running game should work at all times it favors the offense and the defense

Last attempt at sarcasm though

We have a need to use juice more often. He balls when he's in the passing game, every time. But we use him so paringly it's ridiculous

Odd to say this but he's being used as a splash play weapon. He led all RBs (also fullbacks) in yards per reception in 2018 with a 10.8 yards per catch average. This season he's averaging 14.0 yards per catch. Kyle waits until the defense sleeps on Juice then BAM, nice gain. So the infrequency that he's being targeted helps him be more effective when he is targeted.
Juice contributes both as a blocker and as a receiver plus some very rare carries. End of story. He stays.

Ditto
Last week's game alone was enough for him to be a Pro-Bowler again this year.

Agree

he is a hell of a weapon in KS's scheme.
Run routes, catch passes, annhiliate DBs and LBs? Absolutely necessary

Yes, he's extremely Juszful.

welp. now I'm worried.

No Staley or Juice for the next month and a half and the Rams are next? Hang in there Jimmy G.

Discuss?

Gat dam. Almost had a fullback super bowl mvp in Juice.
