He's battled some injuries, but he's been a good consistent slot CB. Problem is, Moseley and Reed not only can play his spot, they also can play outside. Could the upside get Williams a ticket out of town?

Given Shanahan's statements and his backing it up by cutting another oft-injured player, Malcolm Smith, Garnett seems destined to be cut. He may be the most talented backup inside OL we have, but he's not the most versatile. Couple that with the injuries and it would be a bit of a surprise for him to stick. Although, I don't think it'd be the worst thing if he did. You could say the same for Williams above.

I feel like with Ward coming back and his ability to play in the slot (if healthy) and the emergence of Moore at FS, makes Williams expendable and they'll use Ward and Reed in the slot.

Keeping Moore might not be that big of a surprise to some, but given the fact that he was signed from the AAF, then cut, then re-signed and then balled out in pre-season makes a pretty good story and I'd imagine would surprise most.

Most of those surprise keeps are really surprises, AA is GTD $9.046M, Goodwin has most of his 2019 salary GTD. McKInnon has a lot of GTD money, we gain NOTHING by cutting him.

Ok new surprise cut: so it's not really a cut but a trade. Niners trade mullin to the colts for a 5th round pick in the 2020 draft. Shanahan goes all in for beatHard

That'd be a horrible trade IMO, no way I'd deal Mullens at all, I don't trust Beathard at QB.
