Tampa has a new coach and a few new players, but they've still got Winston as their QB, so that right there eliminates them from contention.

The 49ers finished the preseason 2nd to Minnesota in rushing (Kubiak, another Shanahan disciple). Bowles knows that the running game sets up the play-action. Look for more passing on 1st down.

The Bucs QBs were near the top in 5 step drops, pressures, and sacks taken during the preseason which says a lot about their OL. Risk it, no biscuit, I guess. The Bucs base offense is 3 wide, single back sets.

If I see Arik Armstead playing more than 1 snap at LEO/Big End in the 49ers nickel defense (which they'll be playing a lot of in this game), someone needs to step on Rob Saleh's groin WITH cleats.
i have checked their forum and they seem very confident in 1-0 start, i love it.

They are in for a rude awakening

It'd be a big disappointment if we didn't beat them.

Is the new coach sticking with their old scheme or has he reinvented the wheel? If the later we will win hands down.
We haven't put our whole D together on the field the entirety of preseason....they have an abysmal pass defense every year that they did nothing to fix. I smell a week one shootout.
Winston still a doofus at qb. Even Arians won't be able to transform him. If our defense stays disciplined, keep Winston in the pocket, it's a win.
I wanna know where Bucs fans get the idea theyre more talented and got the advantage other than being home? Only players I'll take from them is Evans and Godwin, other than that from qb, rbs, te, lb, dline, i'll even take our secondary because of sherman and a potential healthy verrett over theirs. Only way I see us losing is being unprepared, saleh having solly cover evans somehow and injuries. Kyle has to start 1-0 especially when you have the better team and the past 2 years september has been hideous
This game is a coin flip. Home team is favored (Bucs) as they should be. 49ers need to prove they are a better team with a W.
I am mostly interested to see the chemistry (if any) between Jimmy G and Pettis/Kittle. We need all 3 players to do really well this season to have any hope.
What if Winston gets hurt in the game, then Gabbert comes in and torches us for 5 TDs lol

Then Blaine will have to turn off the XBox.
Gloves are coming off and the coaches are actually game planning. Niners gonna eat the W
49ers 35
Bucs 4
I agree that Winston is still a jelly filled donut, I'm confident that Kyle and the O will do their part, and hopefully Mr. Clean will do his on D and we can start with a W on the road

The Arians Chuck and Duck. Its a lot like those old Martz offenses. Some big plays down the field but long developing pass plays open the QB up to take a beating.
