⛏ SF 49ERS @ TB BUCCANEERS ⛵️ Pregame Thread - 2019 Season Week 1

I was just thinking about the draft after reading Phoenix's post about who to watch in college. Winston went #1 in 2015 and Mariota went #2. Now entering their 5th year neither one has established themselves as a top tier QB. Shows what a crapshoot the draft is.

I'm excited for this game. Just Win Baby. IDC how ugly or close it is. Should be able to shut down or severely slow down Tampa's run game. They have some weapons in the pass game that we are going to struggle stopping but the more Winston throws the more chances we have for sacks and turnovers. This game I believe will come down to our defense. I believe the offense will score 24 pts minimum. If I'm being honest I don't think we have anyone that can stop Evans or OJ Howard for a full game so going to need a few turnovers IMO.

and the top 2 QB's drafted in 2012 would be out of the league and the 6th and 8th QB's taken 2 of the highest paid QB's in the game.

Agree on not having anyone to stop Howard but its gonna be on the front 7 to pressure Winston so he doesnt have time to throw deep alot. The guy I'm worried about is Godwin. He is gonna have 4 inches and 20lbs over Kwaun Williams in the slot. Hopefully Spoon, Sherm, and Varrett are up to the task.

Evans is going to abuse him all day I feel

It's a very scary matchup for us. If we don't scheme Witherspoon a lot of help, Evans could easily have a record setting day against our defense.
