Mostert or Wilson jr?

This is what I was going to say.
Mostert by a mile... which is the distance that would be between them if they raced eachother in a 100 yard dash.

Mostert is the better at the moment but Wilson Jr put in a big effort and will develop ok. It is a shame he was cut. It might be a mistake as our RBs always seem to get decimated at the season progresses. I think would could have one less WR or TE and have kept Wilson.

I hope we don't regret it by half way through the season and have to pick another RB off the street or a used car lot.

That's my concern and Breida is already playing through a shoulder injury.

Mos, but I'd would've rather kept both. There are others I would've cut!

Mostert. Wilson just seems like DuJuan Harris all over again. Good runner, awful ball security.

Now that is a legit comparison.

I don't see it. Wilson runs between the tackles better than Harris.

Bump
Hard to believe our best RB was buried way back on page 7 and no mention of him in his own thread(unless i missed it).. Mostert towards the end of the season became our horse. We got on him and rode him to victory. Yet he has just dropped off the WZ, but was an integral part of our 13-3 season and played like a man possessed in the playoffs. It is hard to imagine how he has been so forgotten with the terrific running game he gave us which reminds one of the old Marine line:

"When the going gets tough...the tough get going". And that was our Mostert. We had some kind of RBs, but kyle can just look at a RB and seems to somehow know immediately if he can help us or not. Well, Mostert sure did.
Didn't Wilson Have 4 TD's on 3 carries or something like that. LoL
This a serious question?

That's because Mostert isn't special. He's a 49er so I root and root hard for him, but he's far from unique or irreplaceable.

And that is the remarkable part. Kyle somehow looks at walk ons, UDFAs, Walmart parking lots, and so on, and somehow sees a guy and bingo, he's one of our RB stable.

Not using high draft picks on RBs, is a huge savings in draft capital.

Not using any capital at all...immeasurable benefit to the overall team.

His dad , Mike , could do the same thing. Pick a RB out of a haystack. There is obviously something THEY see that most of the rest of us don't . But whatever it is, has been incredibly beneficial to the 49ers

Great points Doc. I think one factor in the Kyle/Mike offense is speed. (not just speed of course) but speed is the main ingredient in their run offenses. The way they do the outside zone *with* a RB that has speed - if they catch a defense napping it's a first down or a TD. A defense always has to go full speed to the outside to stop the bread and butter outside zone plays and when they do that, if Kyle anticipates it, can go the other way and it's an offense that is tough to beat. Only the best coaches can deal with it. Ried and Bellicheat. Kyle basically dominated the other coaches in the playoffs. Personally, if I was Kyle's scout - I would assemble all the NCAA track and field sprint champions and pretty much start my RB draft scouting from that list.

I recall a time when Denver had 5 different 1,000 yard rushers in a 6 year span. Terrell Davis, Olandis Gary (one of those needle in a haystack guys), Mike Anderson, Clinton Portis and Ruben Droughns
