The final spot on the #49ers practice squad will be filled by OT Ryan Pope (San Diego State), whom the #Lions waived yesterday. Pope (6-7, 315) was highly coveted as an undrafted rookie.

"highly coveted." LOL. MM.
He was the highest paid UDFA and got 145K from the Lions.

Nice find ninerjohn I was about to bash the signing. I guess he will do.

Tons of fans slammed Lynch yesterday for not making the 53. Saying no way Givens and Wilson Jr will be back, every team in the league wants them.

Well MM didn't lie. He was coveted at one point. Haha. But not enough to push Skule to the PS.
Saw some stuff from Ryan Pope during Shrine week. Dude absolutely looks the part. Freaky athleticism. Exactly the type of prospect you hope to develop on your practice squad.

True. Even fans overvalue our own talent. And every year these same type of players make it to our PS easily and are very rarely poached even during the season.

PS isn't a locked roster though. Any team can sign a player off our PS.

It's unlikely, but a guy like Wilson could still get snagged if a team has an injury at RB or a player (like McCoy) doesn't work out as hoped.

Young talent for Benton to try and develop.

Lest we get started on the list of RB1s we cut in preseason over the years that mysteriously never flash again in the NFL.
Feel bad for Lee... from starting at times to the practice squad. I liked him as a player for us. We'll see how the season goes.

@AlbertBreer
Nine teams had multiple players claimed. The two Super Bowl teams lead the pack.
5: Rams
4: Patriots
3: Bills, Ravens
2: Eagles, Packers, Vikings, Cardinals, Bengals
These become a point of pride for personnel departments, as players getting claimed are a show of depth.

Lol. Glenn Winston. Dude ran over a few scrubs in the preseason and people lost their minds when he was cut.

"Way to get rid of a future FEATURE BACK!"

He finished his illustrious career with 1 carry for -8 yards.

Exactly, good memory.

Somewhere Baalke is smiling: "Pope also had the biggest hands of any offensive lineman -- or player -- measured at the Combine on Wednesday, with his mitts measured at 11 1/8-inch."
Solid PS, no CBs

Some fans in this forum really overvalue Damontre Moore.
