Pretty much this. Nobody was chasing the 49ers scrubs after 2010. Everyone was all up on their nuts after 2011 despite the roster having many of the exact same players. If you win, teams will come to poach your players, coaches and even your castoffs.


Sonetimes you don't even have to win. Like OTC mentioned, the 0-16 win Browns had 5 players snagged from their cuts the following preseason.

Yep. Players like Mullins who end up impacting are pretty rare.

Approximately 1184 players were cut when rosters went from 90 to 53 on Saturday.

Only 36 of those players were claimed on waivers, league wide. That's about 3%.

The Rams were an outlier with 5 claimed. I don't think it's much of a reality check.

I guess the thread title needs to be updated now.
