I thought of that but you can see this team was more "unlucky" whereas those teams were fortunate on their opening nights. Plus this way an away game whereas those were home games (iirc).

Now I'm not going to say we're on a magic run just yet, but this is definitely the most promising start we've had since Harbaugh's winning days.
If Jimmy plays above average, this team can win 9-10 games but there's no way this d holds up like this all season. Jimmy is going to actually do something on offense and rely on our defense to do what they did to Winston. Winston is a bottom 5 QB in this league.
The game was exciting. There is hope with this team!

Need to remember that a Williams and Bosa were playing their first games after missing preseason with injury and that Buckner barely played - I think one or two series in game 3. We also lost Alexander early and I'm not sure where Ward was supposed to have featured.

The defense could be a real strength all season if you look at the circumstance.

This team could have won 45-3 and all the pessimists on this forum (and you are many) would have complained about the color shoe laces KS had in his shoes and called for his replacement. Yes, there are many areas that they need to improve upon but there were more teams who looked rusty than like a fine oiled machine in week one. JG does not have that many starts under his belt and is coming back after a knee injury. Practice is not like game football. The team paid JG a boatload of $ and he may or may not be the long term QB solution but hell he needs at least 6 games to get back in the rhythm and the other 10 to evaluate. Unless he regresses every game and throws more picks than td's and goes 20-30% every week, then he is your QB. As far as the ejection goes, every single player in the NFL were in many meetings that made it known if you lead with the helmet u could be ejected, and the NFL did not say this but we all know it's true, "if the wind off your helmet causes a QB's hair to move we will call that leading with the helmet and eject u." Bottom line don't even look at a QB crossways. Sux, but what can a player do but follow the rules or get ejected now. Kwon was jacked up and wanted to show his old team the mistake they made dissing him,but u have to play smarter and avoid those penalties or u will be watching from the LR. In 5 years it wouldn't surprise me if the NFL puts flags on QB's and have a no tackle,no touch rule. But seriously, this was week 1, it wasn't sharp but as posted by many it is a win and much better than 0-1.

Well said . Jimmy is plenty rusty. The bonding with his receivers will also take time since they are young. Although I believe that once Trent and Hurd gets back they will do better in the passing game. Even Aaron Rodgers sucked. Of course they expect Brady and Pat M like performance, but they have been playing and in the system for awhile now.

Kwon should know better, especially when a QB slides feet first. He is down.

Loved seeing pinion getting blocked

Same, my favorite moment of the game
Victory Monday!!
Well it looks like my prediction for a blowout almost came to fruition. Two dropped pick six and two call backs on George Kittle TDs would have put the media in an uproar. It was nice to be at the game and turn the stadium into a home game. There were so many niners fans there. At the end of the game, 49ers fans were chanting walking out of stadium "Let's go niners"! Good to finally be back to relevance. Keep it going!

first time i have had a chance to chime in. great win. winning a road game and being ready to play were the big things for me. the guys and coaches did well. i hate the dc still but i was very impressed by the defense even with alexander out. secondary stepped up and i hope proved to kyle and john. there is life after ward. yes the team made to many mistakes . and penalties but alls well that ends well and we still need to get better on tackling but little reason to complain. good team win. on the road. huge. i think lots of us still have the first win under jt in our minds. so there is no reason we should lay an egg next sunday. jimmys pick six did not bug me as much as the penalties. defense . aside from missed tackles on third and 17, was just fine. congrats to kyle and the players

Are you using expensive silverware / China with your supper, sir? How are you having it (roasted, fried, grilled, boiled, raw)?

I was one of them there at the game chanting it. Niner fans absolutely TOOK OVER that stadium. I was on the visiting side in the 100s section and there were barely a couple Bucs fans for every few rows. I saw plenty of Niners fans in the shaded home section too. I was elated to see such strong fan support out there. It was awesome high fiving everybody after the game and throughout the game itself when we made plays.
