If it is just a hairline fracture(fx) and not displaced, that could be played on in 6 weeks maybe, but i would want a special leg brace besides. Question is , is it a hairline fx or not? If so, then we'll see him again in 6-8 weeks. It should heal sooner but give it a little extra. Question is , if there are any orthopods on the WZ, if fibula is pinned or screw used, does that get him back on field sooner? Probably not but still a question.
If the fx were displaced, ie, not just cracked but broken and moved out of alignment, i would have expected him to not walk on it when leaving the field. Let's hope and say the beads for a hairline crack...and get him back in 6 weeks. I guess another possibility is a chip fx where a tiny piece of fibula cracked off the bone . He could play on that sooner again, also as long as it was just a tiny chip fx .
Not my specialty, but I've had one and treated a number in ERs yrs ago. A displaced fx is bad news, but if not, he'll be back.
