Is there a real Bias against the 49ers in the NFL and Media

We need to be sharp out of the gate against the Browns. We survived Pittsburgh's best efforts while muddled by mistakes, but the Browns will be even more desperate to save their season should they fall to the Ravens on Sunday.

Winning in the trenches is going to be critical for the team. Gotta keep Garrett and Ogunjobi off Jimmy G so he has time to shred their secondary. Win those battles on both sides and play relatively mistake free(low penalties, no giveaways) and we should win.

After the game if we win, the media should give us a bit of positive press leading into week 6.

Don't they, if they're tied, go by alphabetical order? Los Angeles comes before San Francisco.

Why does it matter? But using words like "rigged" is rather more serious than discussing an apparent bias.

Yeah, even the front page has the Rams above the Niners - so I don't think anything rigged is going on.

None of this power ranking stuff means crap right now. Two weeks from now will tell that tale. And if the 49ers lose it still won't mean much, as it is a home game for the Rams and the 49ers are on a short week. I think we will need to be 8 games in before things start to crystallize.

I'm a Niner fan 100%, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. The Rams have easily one of, if not THE, most talented rosters in the league on both sides of the ball. They're 3-0, just appeared in the Superbowl, have a legendary Defensive Coordinator and one of the bets offensive minds in McVay. We are not there yet.

They are STACKED.

Every woman in LA is stacked
If you are in a big market the pundits will adopt you way too soon, if your in a smaller one they will call you a pretender until it's way too late. That's how it goes and I'm fine with it, don't give our guys any respect...it feeds the fire
The eastern media hated the 49ers during the glory days. They couldn't believe that a West Coast team could win 10 games or more each season for 16 consecutive years. It's no illusion -- they think they're tougher because they play in snow in the winter. Probably just a macho thing...
We haven't made the playoffs in 5 years. "Media Bias"? No.

They(the media) considered the 49ers a finesse team during that time and not up to par with the beast of the east coast teams like the Skins and the Giants.

From what I recall Walsh hated being labeled as finesse.
The W's are all that matter.
The bias is clearly in these forums. If it's not niner news then do we really care? To the common football fan, the media knows what they want to see and it's not us until we start knocking off contenders in primetime.

This thread exists on every team's fan board.
From the media maybe but it's silly to think the NFL is rigging their standings to make us look worse.

Truth!
When we keep rolling up the wins - the media ALWAYS jumps on the bandwagon.

Exactly. When you start the season as the second to worst team and a QB everyone was freaking out over in preseason, you gotta prove yourself. While a team like the patriots could've went 2-1 and still be ranked way ahead of us.
