him and that cb we got back from SD in the rashaun woods trade who I cant remember his name thank god were 2 of the worst cbs ive ever seen in my lifetime on this team

I've got one that some fellow older Niners fans might remember...Charles Cornelius in '79-'80. Just terrible. I was very young but remembered him as one of the sources of my frustrations with the secondary.

This year, it looks like Joe Woods has already made an impact with his coaching of the secondary. You hear how highly regarded he is around the league...glad the Niners have him. Of course you give credit to Witherspoon for his own turnaround but I bet Woods has had a lot to do with it in 'Spoon being more aware and making plays on the ball in the air, being a better tackler, etc. I'm hoping Woods is having the same affect on Ward, Reed, Moseley, Johnson, and any others.

What the hell are you talking about? Nobody is this thread has said we are going 3-13?? Nobody has been bashing the team. Jesus, dude. It's a thread about the options we have at a serious hole. Considering how Witherspoon has been playing, not having him on the field with Landry and OBJ out there is a concern. But considering how he is only out 4-6 weeks, so missing 3-5 games because of the bye, would hardly tank our season.

As far as options go, I don't think we're going to have much. Verret is on IR, and it won't surprise me a bit if he is done for the season. Again. It's too late for a major trade, if we were going to we would have already done it. And I am hearing too much from other team's sources about making a move for Ramsey, that make it pretty clear they were never going to move him. Mosley seems to be the guy right now, he's the one getting the reps. Ward may get into the mix, but I don't seem him getting a ton of playing time against the Browns. Maybe the next few games...if he can stay healthy that long...

Still though, we have a huge pass rush going against a below average offensive line. That is going to help out ANYONE in the secondary. The Browns offense worked best this season, when the game went through Chubb and the run game too. So I expect that to be a focus against us too.

We need to make a trade for some depth at CB. Johnson won't due, and Reed/Mosley/KWilliams are all smaller sized.

Maybe someone like Quinton Dunbar? He's 6-2, starting caliber, and on a cheaper contract. Also on a bottom 3 team.

And given how Witherspoon and Sherman are playing not to mention verret himself going on IR I guess it pretty much shows how much on the outside he'll be actually playing

Sammy Davis! He was also the one that came up with sort of water system that went under football pads. He kept trying to get all his teammates to hawk it for him, lol.
