Willis and Bowman and Justin Smith in their prime. Gore, VD, and Delanie in their prime. A bad ass secondary. I dunno. That 2011 squad was pretty bad ass.
That said...I think our play calling is way better now and Jimmy G is a better QB now than Smith was in 2011.
It would be a great match up but I still give the edge to 2011 only because that defense was arguably one of the better defenses in NFL history. They could rush the passer and defend the pass. Didn't they not allow a 100 yard rusher for like 10 straight weeks? Also didn't they set a franchise record for takeaways? I apologize if I'm wrong but yeah.

TBH I could see each struggling with the other's team. Not a lot of diversity of skills on the 2011 offense for Shanahan to play with. Not enough smashmouth on the 2019 roster for Harbaugh.

Nick Bosa would demolish everyone on that 2011 offense and take their signing bonuses as tribute.

Im never betting against a team with Gore, Willis and Bowman but this team might hit a little harder up front than they did. I think that secondary was way better than the 2019. Offensively though this team is lightyears ahead. Shanny wouldnt have thrown 4 fades to Crab when the ravens couldnt stop Gore int he 4th quarter... Shanny vs Roman is a no brainer. The same thing goes for Fangio vs Saleh, Fangio wins hands down

The defense in 2011 was likely better, it's remarkable what they were able to pull given the fact the QB couldn't complete a pass to the WRs - the worst WR corps in the league. The offensive line was really good along the TEs, Frank Gore was great.
But the offensive play calling was maddening on that team and the QB was limited.
Still, that defense had FIVE guys who would be first team all-pro the following year, I think only one of the 70s Steelers teams pulled that off. 85 Chicago and 00 Baltimore didn't even have that.

we might send 4 All Pros just from the front 4 this year lol. those 1st round picks are playing lights out this year. Our lbs are great this year but willis and bowman might be the best tandem in nfl history

2019 would crush. Both have great defenses but this 2019 team has an actual offense and a QB that isnt afraid to make plays.

.
Team is feeling great...and has a coach that can actually adjust to it's own mistakes.
Jims tantrums were funny but thats were it ended. Ran it's course after awhile and refs gave him the cold shoulder because he was so annoyingly childish.
"That was actually pretty awesome," Staley began. "I didn't even know Kyle was next to me. I was right in front of him. And immediately when the ball was snapped, all I heard behind me was, 'Touchdown!'
"I looked and Kyle is walking away and the play is still going on. He's just walking away, I look at him and look at him, and it's a touchdown. I'm all, 'That's so badass

Bosa would sack Harbaugh too for good measure.

It is still too early too compare. Fangio was a good D coach thou and would give Kyles O a challenge. However, they played and could watch film of the niners season with Kaep, the O would get destroyed, because they would come after Kaep and he is a long strider. He can't/won't slide around the pocket so easily and panic and run. Kwon would then nail him.

our current defense at this rate looks to have 5+ guys all-pro or PB
