Funny how I remember in 2011 and at the time, these great players you mentioned plus more from that season never got the respect they deserved until the Saints game, and by that time it didn't matter because according to everyone the "red-hot" Giants were going to beat us anyways , kinda similar to what has been going on so far this year

That right there is unforgivable. Kap had no business throwing 3 consecutive passes in that situation. Harbaugh laid an egg during that SB, the team came out flat and never could recover.

2011 49ers would win if it was later in the year. 2019 49ers just seem so fragile. 2011 49ers had a bend but don't break Fangio defense. Defending the 2019 49er offense would be tough, but if anyone could stop our run game, it would be the ILB of 2011 49ers. I have always thought highly of Alex Smith. He would probably not turn the ball over, and make the 2019 49ers pay if they blitzed. The problem for Alex is 2019 49ers don't need to blitz, so you can expect a lot of check down passes. My best guess is it would be a low scoring affair. 2011 49ers because that is how they are built, and 2019 49ers because of penalties and turn overs.

We came out flat for a few big games under Harbaugh, but we also won a lot of big games and every playoff loss came down to the end of the game.

We haven't had any big games under Shanahan, so there's no point in comparing them.
