I think the "brotherhood" vibe they created in the locker room helps negate some of this. I have no scientific basis for this, just my opinion that a guy who is playing not just for himself but for the guy next to him isn't going to let his buddy down as quickly as he will let his own ego down.

I doubt that the team is gonna let this success go to their heads. They remember the last 2 seasons of constant losing and being bottom feeders. With the veteran leadership we have in the locker room and with Shanahan as well as Jimmy G leading us, we're not gonna let an awful Redskins team beat us.

Shanahan wants to win by 5 touchdowns so bad. He may put the backups in during the 4th. But he's still gonna call plays to run up the score. He'll justify it by saying he wanted to get looks for the backups.

he is not going to run up the score. most likely he is just hoping the guys are up for the game. they will go out and do what they need to do in a tough road environment. hope his team does not give the redskins any hope and get out with a win. we all hope this game puts us in a position to play some second string guys
ya lets run it up so bad that by the time the 4th quarter rolls around Daniel Snyder is MIA in his luxury owners suit

I will be very surprised if this game comes close to qualifying as a "tough road environment". The Washington fanbase has given up on their football team. Seats are literally being given away for below cost. And by the time the 4th quarter rolls around it will be readily apparent if the team was up for the game or not.

It's far more likely the stands resemble that of LA.

The tone in here has changed quite a bit since August. Now we are wanting blowouts and expecting them. Just get the W. We're banged up pretty good. OL and pass catchers is a mash unit. Skins have a good front 7 on D. Could be low scoring. 6-0 sounds nice but I wonder how many people will be complaining if we win by less than 10???

This might be a tougher game than people think. Keenum while not a top tier QB has proven he can win in the past. Their defense isn't horrible despite what the numbers suggest. Just keep stackn Ws. That's all that matters not whether they blow them out or not. People are just assuming they are going to win. While I expect them too as well I also expect a better game than most are anticipating it will be.

Even though I think our defense will shut them out, I wouldn't be disappointed as long as we get the W. I couldn't care less whether it's by 1 point or 50 points. A win is a win.

i just go into games assuming. no matter how bad a team is. they are excited to play at home. the fans are pumped at the start. and playing a 5-0 team will have them motivated to give the niners their best shot. and thats why its key to get off to a good start in my opinion. but i hope you are right that there will be more niner fans there than red skins fans

I agree. He's not into stats at all.

Kittle didn't get the ball in the 2nd half during his monster game vs Denver and he was given one shot to break the yards record.

But there's no way he doesn't go out of his comfort zone a little.

I think we'll air the ball out a little more, hopefully give some of these receivers a little more confidence.

I'm worried about this. A legit concern. We are traveling East for a 10 am start. Washington coming off a win. Their roster is better than their record.

Hope we don't take this for granted.

They're coming off a "win" over the Dolphins who are full tank mode. And that's with the Dolphins getting the TD to tie the game but they go for the "win" by running a 2pt conversion instead of sending the game into OT at home. About as obvious a "act like you want to win the game but actually lower the % to do it by a large number" play as you can get.

Yes going across the country and playing an early game is never easy but Washington simply doesn't match up well against us. Unless we just completely get unhinged and commit all sorts of mistakes and commit multiple turnovers this should be a W.

Their offense should not be able to do much against our D unless flags start raining down or we commit horrible mental errors and whiff on tackles.

On offense we just have to avoid turnovers. Their DL is definitely legit but this is a game we should be able to win fairly easily if we play sound ball.

And Kyle DEFINITELY wants this one...

yes, that early start has created issues for us before. i recall under jh with one of our elite teams.. we played at minnesota. lost and the guys were in a fog the whole game
It's going to be a tough game. They aren't a good team, but 10 A.M. starts are never easy for West coast teams and it'd be easy for us to overlook this team. We've had issues with being overly arrogant and looking past teams before (Steelers game) and we're lucky it hasn't cost us yet. Hopefully Shanahan has learned from that and can motivate the team to avoid the letdown. A loss here would definitely undo all of the good will from the first 5 games.

You've said this before...what are you talking about?

Who overlooked the Steelers? They got some flukey turnovers off us, nobody overlooked them. Outside the turnovers and the one busted TD play by Juju we completely worked them.

Who else have we overlooked?
