It's going to be a tough game. They aren't a good team, but 10 A.M. starts are never easy for West coast teams and it'd be easy for us to overlook this team. We've had issues with being overly arrogant and looking past teams before (Steelers game) and we're lucky it hasn't cost us yet. Hopefully Shanahan has learned from that and can motivate the team to avoid the letdown. A loss here would definitely undo all of the good will from the first 5 games.

I heard this before the cincy game, we all know how that turned out.

Pretty much this guys MO, just change name of current opponent.

- Team doesn't play well in humidity
- Jimmy G is a game manager who can't lead the team to victory when behind
- Players a, b, c, etc. whom the team continues to retain should be cut/traded because they are losers
- Saleh is a moron who can't make in-game adjustments
- KS is a poor judge of player talent
etc., etc.

The team will be fine with an early start. It will be just another negative expectation to fall this season.
the big thing. the first big thing was to win a road game. i do think the time thing is an issue if you allow it to be

I don't care if it's in the snow at 5 am in Antarctica. They have some good players on defense but our defense is going to be too much for their offense. I'll be back here at 1pm on Sunday

Fun fact, Antarctica has all the time zones

Lol that's hilarious , point is though no matter where the game is played, we have a huge advantage simple as that.

I don't see how you can say they haven't been at least a bit arrogant. They overlooked the Steelers, played very sloppily to start that game (probably didn't think they'd have to try against a backup QB making his first start). Now we've got Breida on NFL Network talking about how we'll beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl. That's not something I'd want our players saying ever, but especially not after just 5 games against a relatively soft schedule.

They're a young team, so it's not surprising that after their first taste of success they might get a little cocky, but it is something Shanahan is going to have to reign in. As Shanahan has said, this league will humble you pretty quickly.

Yeah that's not true. He was specifically asked how he felt the 9ers matched up against the Pats and he said "I feel like I like our chances". Wtf do you expect him to say? At least get your info straight.
Go 49ers!

I expect him to say the responsible thing and decline to comment on teams that we're not preparing to play this week. It's not hard. Why risk stirring up controversy by saying we would beat the Patriots?

This is kinda crap he brings. I smell troll everytime he post.

That interview wasn't the first time I heard a media guy mention 49ers and Patriots in a match up...the earliest was a couple weeks ago on the radio...even Cowherd mentioned it...it's as if they think about it --> #49ers #Patriots #SB54 #BookIt

I think Dan Patrick talked about that super bowl match up also. Said it would be a media dream come true game.

It's silly for the team to be talking about things like this. It's October and we've won 5 games. The only record we're guaranteed is at least 5-11. It's way too premature to talk about hypothetical super bowl matchups, especially when we haven't even sniffed the playoffs in 5 years. Whatever happened to one game at a time?
