they're a good group that's feisty, aggressive, and makes it difficult for offenses to move the ball. But there are glaring chinks in the armor. We've seen Huff a few times misread the play and allow players to run wide open on passing plays. We've seen that both J Ward and Lenoir can be vulnerable at times. If Bosa is on the sidelines, the Dline can all of a sudden disappear.
this is our best group since Shanny joined the team, but I wouldn't crown them as "all-time" just yet
I agree. We do have bone fide excellence at DL and linebacker levels, which counts for a lot.
I actually think Jimmy Ward is playing great at slot, and Mooney Ward is elite level, but after that the quality drops to 'good' rather than excellent in our secondary.
I fear that a top level passing machine might expose them.
That said, Lenoir has played really well past few games, and Hufanga has both excellence and mistakes in him, so if things continue to trend well, then our secondary might also turn out golden too.
To early to call for me.

Pacific Sack Exchange gets my vote.
Yeah, +1 here as well. That's legit.

Solid framing on this pitch and I like it. Only reason against is one contrary to that for it - don't want to be accused of appropraiting or "copying" anything Seahawks related. Though it hurts me to say it, Legion of Boom was a good nickname.
Names I've seen so far which resonate:
- Pacific Sack Exchange
- Boomtown
- The Gold Standard

it has to be organic to become a legend.
cant be made up in polls and threads.
someone will say something during the run and it will stick.
this is the way.

"Boomtown" would actually make sense and tie in with the regional history and Niners' team name. It's also short and sweet and to the point—-though maybe a little self-deprecating if Santa Clara or the "town" portion of it gets scrutinized; also that casino connotation is a demerit (tho only local N. Cali and Nevada Niners fans would cringe at this)….I always thought "LOB" was so contrived (like everything with that team) and IMO was corny as f**k when it was first trying to gain traction around 2012–only reason it caught in and stuck was their defense backed it up and got a trophy. Just hate that they got to appropriate "BOOM" first… …and people would think we're trying to ape them. Man, f**k Seattle

also the more words/syllables the proposed nickname has, the cornier and more contrived it will tend to be (IMO)
unless its something that immediately resonates and rolls of the tongue, then yeah as you say, it will be dead on arrival since the media, social media, etc won't adopt it and spread its use.
people need to use this litmus test before posting their suggestions lol

I'd like to refer to our secondary specifically as the "Ward"

Better than Dwight Hicks and His Hot Licks. Shorter too. Personally? I'm a fan of the Fang Gang.

Boomtown is where the fat ex jock says he takes the cows he brings home from the bar to.
