I liked the Harbs yrs because we won. We had a ton of vets in their prime and just needed proper coaching. His coaching style was/is unsustainable though. He refused to make adjustments and it was like banging your head against a wall watching it happen.

Harbs got out of dodge just in time to save his name imo. He wasn't gonna rebuild s**t and while we want to hate on Baalke (rightfully so), Harbs didn't help much with developing talent.

Kyle is innovative, he understood the challenge ahead when he signed here. For whatever reasons certain fans just seemed to not get it and wanted success ASAP which wasn't realistic.

If I had to choose between having Harbs or kyle is shanny by a mile...not hating on Harbs, I just think Kyle is that good at his job

JL/KS are smarter than their predecessors by a country mile.

Harbaugh/Fangio "Inherited" a very talented team. They did well w/it but couldn't do it 2 years in a row.

JL/KS inherited a disaster.

In 3 years the turn-around is almost in full swing.

AND we are set up for many years to come.

That's progress.

People just b***h more now or are at least heard more now because of social media. In the past it was limited to Cohn senior and Chronicle guys. Harbaugh took a team expected to win 4 games to the nfc championship.

I think Shanahan earned the players respect when he lead them through hard times. Not only were they devoid of talent, but they had injuries to many of the decent players that they actually had. But Shanny seemed to be even keeled, and just went about his business. These players would know if they were being BSed. The coach just kept on working, and even though the team was outmatched talent wise and they were riddled with injuries, they seemed to still be fairly competitive. I bet the majority of the players know Shanny is one of the better coaches in the league. And he will only get better.

It's been a roller coaster.

Inheriting baalke mess.
Losing streak.
Getting jimmy.
Winning streak.
Losing jimmy.
Losing season.
Winning in Seattle.
Getting Bosa.
Now undefeated.

Progress is slow when you start that far back, but damn, this team is coming together.

I would not count the first two years of Shanahan and Lynch with the 49ers as dark. In spite of a bad record the actual football is smart and has been fun. Perhaps some fans had blinders on and just couldn't see it but the day KS/JL showed up to the 49ers our present and future became bright. The difference between Lynch/Baalke and Shanahan/Every coach (sans Harbaugh) since Mooch is staggering. I'd be surprised if we didn't win at least one title with them at the helm.

Agree, but Kyle's brand of offense is tech and beautiful, compared to harb-roman's neo-neanderthal Chicago-style offense.
