Why? We're injured plain and simple. Man people overreact in here

Probably won't make it back to the SB this year with all the injuries, and lot of key players are about to be FAs in the offseason. Should've won it last year

We'll bounce back and go on a nice winning streak. We just need our key players back Asap.
It's gone completely. It never was really there. Having a sustained championship window without a franchise QB is not possible with the way the NFL is structured.

Making it to the Super Bowl is stupid hard. Yeah the should have won it.

I mean the only guy I truly care about resigning next yr is Trent. I'd let everyone else test FA and when guys like Juice/Sherm realize they're not gonna get top dollar we could get back on a cheaper deal.

Not saying to flush it all away but IMO the talent isn't there right now regardless of injuries. We need someone on the other side of Bosa and more depth. D-Buck left a huge hole and we cannot stop running QB's at all. The rookie we drafted to replace him hasn't had any impact unlike D-Buck during his rookie year. AA has been during these couple of games.

CB's are pretty trash. Safeties are terrible. OL is a complete disaster (our RT is a bust).

That is why I am saying we might need up to two season to get back to the Super Bowl. For example, next offseason take care of OL or CB. Then the following offseason take care of FS/SS and Pass Rush.

We will compete (if we are healthy) but until those problems are fixed I don't see us winning a Super Bowl.

No, when Jimmy and Jordan Reed get back, we will be stacked on offense. i think the OL just had a really bad day last night. The defense concerns me, can't have that many injuries on defense and expect the same result. Ansah only lasted one f&*king game.

I see this season where we hit our stride right around the time we start playing our division games, or it's a year to rest up, because we're gonna be really good next year with our players back.

Exactly why it's so rare for a team to make it back to the SB the year after losing. Injuries, hangover and schedule can all throw plans out the window. I know NE did it fairly recently but they lost the year after winning. Then they came back and won. Of course they play in the weak AFC east which makes it easier. The NFC and the NFC west are so strong that there are just more hurdles to clear if you want to get to the SB.

This team is beat to s**t right now with injuries. No team is overcoming all the players we're missing and racking up w's. There's still a ton of talented players on the roster. The team is still set up to be good for the foreseeable future just need some better luck with the injuries.

Losing in the trenches. Offensive line can't block. Defensive line can't pass rush. Not a championship contender.

Sometimes it's that simple. I agree with you.
When the QB's cant throw to the open guy accurately it doesn't matter how the Oline is doing. This isn't just on them. Mullens loses us that game even with perfect blocking.

Unfortunately it feels like 2018 all over again. Maybe we'll pull it together, but most likely not.

There are layers to our current suckiness

The oline wasn't good yesterday. The eagles dline was having their way with them out there. I agree with you though. Mullens was bad. He did them no favors by holding onto the ball too long and missed his chances when he had them. The miss to Juice hurt. That was likely a td and would have established some momentum early on.
I think one terrible sign is McGlinchey's continued regression, which leaves us with really no young anchor on that offensive line. Trent Williams is really good (last night notwithstanding), but there's no one else on that offensive line that you would want to keep long-term and feel good - maybe Tomlinson.

Garoppolo's apparent regression, at least based on the AZ game, is a whole another level of concern, but concerning QB play is something that 80% of the NFL has to deal with

Miss to Bourne the play before the fumble was awful too. PIck 6 awful. O line wasn't responsible for that.

O line is a problem but if the qb's cant make the plays that are there to be made that's a even bigger problem.
One thing I noticed is that McKinnon/Wilson just don't have the Mostert/Breida speed.
