We called Jim Harbaugh's success not sustainable, but that was 3 years of deep playoff runs. Kyle is "sustainable", but we might be looking at 1 playoff out of 4 seasons. Are you guys referring to sustainable losses?
Last year we went to the Super Bowl because of this:

1-Great and I mean really great running game.
2-Great defense in the first half of the season and in 2 playoff games.

Now we have none of that and it seems that we need a truly elite QB to keep our window open but guess what......we don´t have one.

Our window is closed until we can find our franchise QB.

Harbaugh was unsustainable because his football philosophy is antiquated. His success was highly dependent on having elite talent. Current squad is talented but not as much as the Harbaugh teams. We have barely scratched the surface of what Shanahan's vision is. We just need a legit QB and OL

I don't agree that last season and this season the talent level is not as good as the Harbaugh years. I think it is close and it is hard to make a definitive judgement. You can argue Pete Carroll's football philosophy is antiquated too, but that is a team that is in the play off hunt, if not play off, every year. Harbaugh is a coach that just knows how to win.

Pete Carroll wins consistently because he has a generational talent at QB that he just lets play backyard football. We dont have that luxury.

Yeah Harbaugh knows how to win....unless its against Seattle/Baltimore/Ohio St. Need a better argument than "dudes a winner".

That's a gross oversimplification of what seahags do.

Too many people are using this "backyard football" stuff now to justify success. And when Pete had a great defense, he had used it well, along with a running game. Even when seahags werent good, Pete got Marshawn Lynch there and it immediately paid dividends.

It's called "utilizing assets that you have the best" and "knowing what talent you need to fit in". And players always play hard for Pete.

One thing about their window being open is that Russ gets better year after year. Been saavy since day one and has only gotten better. Every QB that has been apart of the roster from the Kap days to now has not really developed beyond what we first saw. They all hit a wall.
Even Alex Smith became a better player once he went to the Chiefs. Just seems like this team is hellbent on being the running team that relies on YAC when we do pass. Not much of a vertical offense. And we've seen what a Shanny did with Matt Ryan so I cant imagine that he doesn't have downfield plays in the book. Anyways, a healthy Niners team is still a playoff team but OL, CB and QB need to be in focus if we wanna keep that window open.
We never really had a championship window. Our 2019 run looks like an anomaly.

His NFL record is self explanatory. If you think otherwise, you are the one who needs to prove it.
This is what is so aggravating. We just lost year 2 of prob a 3 year window .

We do for sure but this year would be the all in year but the train just flew off the tracks

People are ignorant to think if a team loses their 3 staring cbs and best 2 pass rushers to INJURY (you know same unit that had the best YPG allowed SINCE 2009) 3 all pros right there, that the team isn't going to lose some games to lesser teams????

We lost to ATL last year bc we had 7 starters on D out? People actually were questioning the team then We have arguably the best depth in the league but when 2 PRACTICE SQUAD PLAYERS are playing in the secondary we aren't stopping anyone and neither is any other team.

Yep. Bosa might be the best end in the world. Our secondary is decimated. Very frustrating.
What a difference a year makes eh? Last year at this time we were 5-0, and the NFL started taking notice of how good we were, how young we were, and how we could run the NFC west for the future. Life comes at you fast, that's for dang sure.
